Fate of the Orion chick

I like to think she sealed herself off in a compartment with 4 or 5 lucky crewmen.

Of course, the black hole probably would've ruined their fun...

It wasn't said in the movie what ship she was assigned to; we might as well conclude she was on the Enterprise and still stashing guys under the bed.

There's every reason to think she was on Enterprise. We didn't hear her assignment. But, she hadn't heard Uhura's assignment yet, and they both thought Uhura would be on Enterprise. And she seemed happy when she heard her assignment and grinned at Uhura like they would be serving together. Meaning, to me, that she was assigned to Enterprise.

The only arguments against this are that we didn't see her again, either on the ship or at the ceremony at the end. In both cases, I say, big whoop. The nuEnterprise is a big ship with a lot of crewpeople, and maybe she had other things to do (duty or personal) when the ceremony was going on.

Gaila Lives! :techman:

Hey, this is going to be the title for my next Lucasarts video game -- Indiana Jones and the Fate of the Orion Chick.

Did they have life boats in the 23rd century? kirk was certainly kicked off the Ent in something similar to a lifeboat. Even if she was on a ship destroyed over Vulcan perhaps she got off inside a lifeboat. Heck! maybe she landed on Delta Vega. ;)

Yes, and they closed her Facts About thread too. :(

:p

M'Sharak strikes again?

Seriously thinking about starting a Facts About M'Sharak thread. :D

...to be fair it was a tired joke that has been vigorously run into the ground at high-speed then violated like the no parking after 11pm rule in downtown so yeah. ;)
Yeah, the Uhura and Gaila (Can you believe it, I'm the first person in this thread to use her name! :)) threads deserved to be closed. The cupcake thread should've remained open though.

(either that, or Bob Ross has a descendant who hosts The Joy Of Replicated Painting and that was the first picture)
"...And if you want a little cloud right here, well, you can put a little cloud right here. You can have all the clouds you want to make it nice..."

One thing that has occurred to me - why do we assume she's Orion? Could body pigmentation altering be a fringe thing some kids/people do in the 23rd century? Heck, it wouldn't surprise me to see this pop up within my lifetime.

I kind of thought she might be half human. It could help account for her being able to function at the academy without the usual hormonal effects. Others have noted she's probably using supressors or something; but she might also have been a half blood, especially if green skin is a dominant gene.
