Mass Effect 2: what would you change?

I've been replaying mass effect lately and as many of you know, it is an awesome game :D That said, there are a few things that I would like to change/see fixed in the sequel

The biggest one of these are the secondary planets that you explore. I'd love to see a bit more variety in the structures. Maybe make some larger sub-quests involving these planets than the simple "travel there and investigate" missions that were the norm

I would also like for them to either give you a vehicle that flys (like a helicopter or something) or make the terrain less annoying because getting through some of those mountains was a pain in the neck

Something else I would like to see is some improved character animations. For a game that was as pretty and as Mass Effect, it was a little jarring seeing your character move as if s/he had a stick up the butt.

The final thing i would like to see is less pup-up textures. Its pretty annoying looking at a cut scene and as you watch it little details start poping up out of nowhere. I know its been a somewhat common issue in the new generation of consoles but maybe it would be better to increase load times slightly and wiat for the textures to load rather than load quickly yet still have textures pop up during gameplay

Inventory. The inventory system in the Xbox 360 version is awful, it's fine on PC though.

I'd like less explorable planets, but make the planets that are in the game much larger with more side stuff to do on them.

That tedious ridiculous time-wasting inventory system that required me to manually delete 50 worthless objects every 15 minutes. Christ. The elevator load times. The exact same "side planet" barren map and the exact same little base for every single side planet mission. Should be easier to run faster across the map to save time walking across vast empty spaces. Aside from that, excellent game!

Yeah, the copy/paste in the first game was just terrible. Let's see some variety in the environments. Give us more to do when exploring the planets besides running into the same outposts over and over again and fighting the same damn thresher maws over and over again.

And yeah, the elevators sucked and sucked hard.

Another vote for the cancellation of elevators altogether. I hated it. I remember actually being grateful when the rare conversation between my teammates took place. At least it killed the boredom for about ten seconds. :borg:

I didn't mind driving around on difficult terrain on the planets, it did get frustrating to pass over some of the mountains sometimes, but it was a lot of fun too. :D

Yeah definitly change the inventory, it was a right chore searching through that.

I also hope they give us desirable romantic options this time round, especially for male Shep whose options were Liara and Ashley.

Oh that reminds me. Driving around the side planets I never found the proper way to drive to the location so I would end up trying to force my way straight up the mountain or something and usually get stuck or fall back down. Annoying as hell.

I'd get rid of the driving sections entirely. Mainly because I'm stuck on the first one and can't get past it.

-More characters to play around with. I'd like a Quarren, Elcor, and those little fat guys in my group.

-A male love interest that doesn't suck. Seriously. Kayden is awful in every way. Choosing between him and Ashley at that certain point is a no brainer. It's like choosing between The Steelers and The Chiefs.

-Seeing female versions of the various races. It seemed like the Asari were the only chicks in the galaxy.

-Visiting the homeworlds of the various races.

-Actual nudity. There's nothing more annoying then going to a strip club and the strippers DON'T GET NEKID! I mean, seeing Liara and Ashley's bare asses were nice, but don't tease me here. If you give me nakedness, I wanna see the whole thing.

-Visiting planets that aren't all just baren and lifeless.

^ But there was a lot of life on planets! I remember those strange sort of cows going by... I did try to get out and kill a couple but to no avail.

Another vote for being able to visit the home planet of the main races, that would be really cool.

And maybe adding recreational quarters on the ship where you could relax for a bit playing small, simple games before getting back into the action. Not necessarily gambling games.

More meaningful character interaction.
I know you can't have infinite dialog, but the fact that you know that you have to talk to your party members after every mission... well, it was a step backwards from KoTOR.

-More interesting companions. Wrex and Ashley were the only ones I didn't want to throw out the airlock.
-Better inventory system and not having to spend hours converting useless weapon and armor upgrades into omni-gel just so I can pick things up again.
-Getting rid of the cookie-cutter random planets and replacing them with more conventional side quests like you find on the Citadel.
-More interesting conversation options besides "I'm a douche bag!" (paragon) and "I'm a sadistic asshole!" (renegade). The renegade options are good for a laugh, though.

You can kill the space monkeys on Eletania. I always have a lot of fun with that. :D

-Forget the elevators, that was the worst part of the whole game
-More variety on planets that can be explored, especially the interiors of the outposts or whatever, which were literally all identical

Make planet exploration the primary focus of the game (a la Star Trek) and agreed with other posters.... curb those damn elevator rides!!

Well the elevator ride exists to "mask" a new loading screen... so is that something they can actually fix? They could make the level smaller which I think would be a good thing I get so sick of having to run half a mile to get to the next portion of the game or the shop or whatever.

One thing they can do is they can try and shorten loading times, something that will probably happen as they should know the 360 hardware better now than back in 2007 or whenever they made the first game. Another thing they can do is they can allow you to install the game onto the 360 hard drive, provided you have the hard drive at least
