more blasphemy! A-Team remake in the works!

"I love it when my certain set of skills brings balance to the force."

A real actor? John Malkovich as Murdock! :)

Ice Cube was part of the original talk for B.A. back when it was in John Singleton's hands. How about Terry Crews? And Tyrese Gibson would be a much better choice than the likely suspects -- Common, 50 Cent, Xzibit, etc.
Gah, didn't even think about those guys. I apologize, Mr. Gibson.

HANNIBAL: Mark Harmon
FACE: Michael Weatherly
MURDOCK: Sean Murray
AMY: Cote de Pablo
B.A.: Rocky Carroll
DECKER: Joe Spano

:p

I really can't see Liam Neeson as Hannibal, certainly not if they plan to have him anything like the Peppard character. Neeson does gravitas, hangdog expressions and seriousness. Hannibal was all smirks, wisecracks and humour. Has Liam ever made a comedy? Even if this were to be a dramatic movie, the actor should be able to play for laughs. Someone like Mel Gibson, Bruce Willis, even Tommy Lee Jones. Maybe they don't want to pay for an A List actor but even his fellow Irishman Pierce Brosnan would make a better Hannibal than Neeson.

Cooper as Face I can see, though I still think Josh Holloway is perfect.

Brosnan as Hannibal would be good, love the idea of Sawyer as Face!

Michael Clarke Duncan should be B.A.

The A-Team directed by Joe Carnahan, produced by Ridley Scott, and starring Liam Neeson? Not what one would expect of an A-Team movie at all. I'm very interested to see how this turns out.

I could have neither. I don't like The Rock as an actor, he hasn't done anything good before and I don't think neither have the look or the attitude.

What?! :wtf: If there's no William Shatner in this new movie, I ain't gonna see it.

Seriously, when people (fans) talk about their "dream cast" for a certain movie, they almost always go for the actors' looks and physical appearance. Unfortunately, this is not how things work in reality, and that's certainly not how Hollywood has always done it. Need I give examples? Take G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, for instance. If they didn't include the movie title in the trailers and ads, you wouldn't think it was a G.I. Joe film. :p I think mostly, Hollywood looks for two factors when casting: (1) capturing the essence/spirit of the character, even if it means reinventing said character and (2) the marketability of said actor. Just cuz Denzel Washington is a black actor doesn't mean he should be cast as B. A. Barracus. :vulcan: Or just because B. A. Barracus was played by a big, muscular black actor with a mohawk on TV doesn't necessarily mean they should get the first big, muscular black actor they could find.

Some fans focus almost solely on what actors look like in coming up with casting suggestions. That's why you sometimes get fan casts that are a rather bizarre mixture of talent, picked simply because of their resemblance to the characters (this happens a lot with superhero casting suggestions).

I suggest Michael Clarke Duncan for B.A. because I think he ticks all the boxes in terms of physicality, capturing the essence of the character, acting ability, and name recognition. But if they decide to reinvent the character and make him substantially different to the TV show (which they may well do, especially since they're after Liam Neeson to play Hannibal), then it opens up a broader range of possibilities.

In the Star Trek XI forum, someone complained (paraphrasing) that Paramount failed to do their job by not finding one person on the entire planet who looks like Nimoy to play young Spock. That right there told me everything I needed to know about that poster.

IMO, George Clooney was born to play Hannibal Smith - they could even tie it in to Three Kings...

Yeah, I seem to remember some movie website back in the day saying they should use all of the cast from Three Kings as the new A-Team. As I recall, it went with:-

Hannibal - George Clooney
Face - Mark Wahlberg
BA - Ice Cube
Murdoch - Spike Jonze.

I've also heard of Jim Carrey being suggested for Murdoch

Or maybe...

The A-Team: The Next Generation

Starring

Jean-Luc Picard as John "Hannibal" Smith
Will Riker as Templeton "Faceman" Peck
Reginald Barclay as H. M. "Howling Mad" Murdock
and
Worf as B. A. Baracus

Nice idea, but I don't see Barclay as Murdock... ;)
