I am rewatching Changeling and notice that Redshirts are getting spanked left and right.

Which TOS episodes had the highest Redshirt deathtolls?


Why is it so unlucky to be an ensign (or Lieutenant) with a red shirt??

How did Scotty survive to make it to Lt. Cmdr with the odds so stacked against his survival??

I believe it may be "The Apple", as far as on-screen showing of red-shirts buying it.
Maybe "Obsession".

If you're counting off-screen mentions of deaths, it might be a different eps.

I bet a good chunk of the Constellation crew wore red shirts. And the Defiant.

Not the Intrepid, though. They all wore blue.

I gotta go with "The Apple", more for the variety of how they die (lightning, rock mines, poison thorns), as opposed to "Obsession", where it was just by way of a cloud.

The problem with Obsession is that at the beginning 4 or 5 redshirts are killed but later they say the creature got into the ship and killed one crewmember and another was severly hurt. They never revealed the fate of the wounded crewmwmber and it's unlikely that those two were 'redshirts.'

So its unclear but it is likely Obsession---Apple for sure is second with 4.

I don't remember the Changeling masterbating the redshirts in this episode!!??! Unless that's included on the re"mastered" edition. Can anyone provide a link for this said spanking...I'd love to see it.
