So many browsers out there now, some good ones, some not so good, I'm curious what everyone is using. Personally, I've been using Slimbrowser (IE7 based) for the longest time now, but I am thinking about switching to something newer, I just don't know what. I know Chrome is fast, and Safari is even faster, and Firefox is good with a lot of plugin options, so what does everyone here use?
My option isn't on there, I use IE6. On our new desktop at home we have IE7 but on my work computer (which is probably the one I use the most) and my laptop I'm using IE6.
Whutnow? -has it already been two months again? Still using FF, still getting to like it better and better (and I even accept that certain pages are written for more-or-less exclusive IE use -that's what I have the IE Tab extension for!)
Chrome, FF just pisses me off the last few months with the constant crashes. I do my my plug-ins and such though.
Right now I use Firefox, but I'm always open to new browsers. Chrome is okay, IE7 is okay, Safari is horrible. I have a Mac and use Safari from time to time, and it's just, well blech. I tried to like it, but when it wasn't able to perform like FF, I went back. Fortunately, FF is made for Macs, too. J.
^ I just got a MacBook Pro and feel the same way about Safari. I'm using Opera. I've never tried Chrome and SeaMonkey though. Does anyone know how they compare with Opera?
And me. It's readily compatible with the sites I use, its Develop menu allows it to be 'spoofed' (as another browser) for those that aren't, and it's got the only decent RSS reader I've found for the Mac. The only trouble is, it messes up the TrekBBS spoiler code. To wit: If there are multiple spoiler tags on any given page, Safari will only let you read the first one. But that's a minor nit.
Firefox. Great browser, plus EXTENSIONS. IE is horrible. Chrome is fast, but the lack of adblock extensions kill it. Once you go ad-less, you never go back.
Firefox - I live for extensions. Chrome is snappy, but not enough plugins (not even Google Toolbar - huh?). Safari is okay, but nothing special, the Beta of 4 is more interesting. Opera once in a while, but I just like FF better. IE is a chore any time I have to use it. Even 8 is so slow, and I can't customize the interface.
I'm surprised more people aren't using Opera. Then again, it's probably for the best seeing as obscurity usually means security...
