Shatner in the sequel

Kail

Do you think William Shatner should play Tiberious Kirk, Jim's grandfather, in the next Trek film?

Not really, though it wouldn't be terrible. I'm already a little concerned that they'll bring Nimoy back, and I'd really rather that they dropped that kind of "legacy casting" or whatever they call it altogether for the next film.

Maybe just a cameo.

Maybe a flash back to Kirk's youth when his father took him to the worlds fair. Seems there was a booth that would take your image and create what you will look like when you are say...Sixty. Young Ten year old Kirk looks at the result (picture of Shatner} and says..."Dad, whats an alternate reality?"

:wtf:

William Shatner shouldn't be playing in the next film. He's 78 years old and how is that possible for him to getting involved in the next big project for that? So it would be best not to having him in the role to playing Tiberious Kirk, Jim's grandfather, in the next film anyhow.

Perhaps in a future film, Kirk suffers a particularly crushing defeat- prompting him to head back to Iowa to clear his head. There, he receives some sage advice from old grandpa Tiberious.

I can see it.

No. I think it would confuse people.

If any other originals come back, I'd prefer it if they played their original characters, like Nimoy did.

On top of that, he's fat and not hot anymore :(

Ha, young kirk could find the nexus and fall into it like the last one...remember the now AW kirk would be stilll in the nexus correct?

we can play the game "how many variations of kirk can we trap in the nexus"

Ok, so nobdy likes my idea. I can live with that.

Keep perspective. Only the majority of people who responded in the thread don't like it. I'm pretty sure the multitudes who wanted him in the first film but were ignored love the idea.

It's a bit lae now, but I think it would have been great if it was Shatner's voice telling Kirk off for taking the car.

I thought that too! Would have been a great way to get the Shat in there, but he probably wouldn't want a small bit like that. Would have been cool though.
