Doing my usual Amazon checking, I came across this release.

    http://www.amazon.com/Star-Trek-Inc...=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1243440206&sr=1-2

Now, I'm fully aware of Amazon not being a reliable source, cancelled or non-existent books appearing in their results (the Orion Factor trilogy is still present on Amazon.co.uk, BTW), etc.

This one, however, has a definite release date (no December 2010 placeholder), and would slot in perfectly with Margaret's New Year's Eve mention of an "as yet undetermined" TOS-era novel for March 2010 (since Sorrows of Empire is mentioned there as a February release, but now looks to be the January MMPB, it stands to reason that the March release might also have been pushed forward a month to be the February release). Perry's done TOS before, with Cloak, and is a big TOS fan, so the author isn't an implausible, left-field appointment...

I suspect this is the Carol Marcus meets Leila Kalomi novel that Danelle's been talking about for a while...... :)

So, this is a genuine release then?

And, the tiny product description from Amazon seems to bear out what you say...

ETA: It's also now up on Simon & Schuster's site, so I guess it is official!

So, that makes the big TOS celebration early next year Sorrows Of Empire, Inception, a so-far-unannounced reprint, and MWB's Saavik novel?

Plus Mike Barr's Robert April novel, whenever that gets a confirmed slot...

Cool, I've been wanting to read more TOS, and it sounds like now I'll be getting my chance. Although it does seem like these will be more TOS side stories than Big E crew stories.

I read her "Cloak" novel last year and loved it, so this is good news! Her DS9 titles are also fantastic. :techman:

Nice. A website that refuses to work with Opera. It tells me I need to upgrade my browser to IE, Firefox, or Safari. Bugger that.

S&S seems to be one of those websites that is steadily modified to be worse with time.

S&S's web site is, as far as I can tell, run by drunken monkeys with attention-deficit disorder.

That's terribly unfair to all the ADD-afflicted alcoholic monkeys out there...

I'll read this book, of course, but I would have much preferred Perry to continue her DS9 books as she is so damn good at them! All I can say is... crap!

S&S booksite is a mess I can't get it to work when you try to search for new Trek book news or updates.:klingon: It seems to be more difficult to use each time you visit that site.:shifty:

Love SD Perry's work, especially in TOS with Cloak. So this is good news.

I don't know what you're talking about...They keep adding wonderful new options:

For instance, the inside cover to the latest trek novel (Troublesome Minds) has a link to a wonderful S&S resource marked as www.startrekbooks.com .

That link will take you to all 48 star trek books S&S has ever published. All 48. It's a wonderful resource. :shifty:

They are not that competent. S&S just seem to want to piss off customers and drive away sales. Well they are doing a good job.

The web site is in fact run by the Deficient Organ Grinder Monkey Assocation (DOGMA for short).
