The disappearing mole

cubbie

Vice Admiral
Admiral
Has anyone else noticed a mole or facial blemish on the right side of Chris Pine's face? It's in front of his ear and but below the sideburn. It seems to come and go in the movie, though.

I've watched it several times now, and it bugs me, because it doesn't fit the "movie timeline" but probably fits the filming timeline.

I wish I had screencaps. :(

Yes, I believe it returns when Kirk is wearing command gold and sits on the captains chair at the very end

I remember seeing it during the movie and thought dang thats a big mole...Kinda like the Mole in Austin Powers...I also noticed that Chris Pine has a little Edward James Olmost face going on. Its not nearly as bad as EJO but he has that pitting on his neck a little...
I wonder what thats from and if it gets worse with age?

So does Chris Pine have a mole there in real life???

Chris Pine either has a mole in real life, or he had it and removed it during filming.

"Edward James Olmos face"

Damn, it sucks to have something like that named after you. :guffaw:

Can you see it too? What the heck is that called? I always thought it was from using a crappy razor to shave when you were young...

Yeah, over at the IMDb, there has been some blather about his acne scars; but I'd say 98% of the posters do not care and think he's adorable. I should probably change that to 99%.

No, this is important! :) There are at least two threads at the IMDb on the topic. Probably more.

I'm sure it's just one of the many skin conditions that exist.

Let us have our mole! Or not, depending on if you can see it in the screencap or not!

Anyway, to weigh in on Molegate: I definitely had the sense of "now you see it, now you don't" while watching the movie. I kinda wondered, and am glad to see it's not just me.

We really need the DVDs so we can make some screencap comparisons.

That said, I think it's awesome that we have a perfect-skin-challenged lead in a movie these days. It says a lot about society and how we're getting beyond trivial things like acne scarring and seeing Chris Pine's inner beauty on the outside.

It seems like every pic I can pull up in google search Chris Pine always has that side of his face tilted so the camera cant see it... coincidence?
