The 'oldies' of TrekBBS reunite...

Only posted a few times in recent years as I pretty much broke the 'habit' of messageboard posting. The place I now spend a bit of time posting is on the messageboard of New Zealand's Ebay equivalent, www.trademe.co.nz - its board is very 'primitive' compared to here, but the topics are, obviously, much more NZ-oriented.

I've been thinking about posting more here, but never get around to it. Might have to try harder! http://www.trekbbs.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

Aussie pointed me in this direction. I haven't actually been to the board for years. I registered in July 1999, which I think at the time put me in the first 500 to join the board. Was mod of the Voyager forum for the flame wars, and I'm still wondering where Core is. For a long time there I was obsessed with Trek and then one day I realised I wasn't anymore. It happens, I guess. Then I moved onto other things, as we often do. Although I did keep in contact with some of the good friends I made on this board.

I finally got to see the new Trek movie last weekend and it was great fun! They've managed to revitalise the show without throwing out the history. While I may not be obsessive anymore I did break out the Voyager DVDs and watched some of my favourite episodes and it was good. :-)

It's good to see some of the old faces. *G*

My profile says I joined in July, 2001 but I actually first joined in March 2001 under a different name.

I remember the Great Post Purge when I lost over 2000 of my post count.

I also remember the protests when we were told that posting in Miscellaneous and TNZ wouldn't count towards post total. I believe that several good members left over that.

Joined April 6th of 2001, disappeared off the board for a while from November? of 08 to March? of this year.. I don't think anyone noticed either.

Do those of us who remember reading Katie's "From The Ranks" posts count? :p
I lurked in early 2001, registered in early 2002, but re-registered in late 2002 when everything went kablooey.

Katie was good people. I wish she posted more.

I, somehow, managed to survive the Christmas Day Massacre completely intact, but I remember panicking Christmas Day when I tried to log-on and TJ Hooker was staring back at me the entire day!

Don't be sad. No one can stand up to the smouldering gaze of one officer T.J. Hooker.

March or April of 2000. The exact date was lost along with my original username in one of the monthly crashes.

It was a fun place, but insane at times. Crashes, more trolling and more bickering too.

avf, congratulations with your children! Sounds like life is going great for you :-)

Joined in December 2000. Been a while. :)

Summer of 2001 is when I joined. I used to post more than I do now, but I've been picking up the posting frequence a bit lately.

And I sure remember the "From the ranks" threads. Can't forget Jethro Elvis either. I try, but I can't.

;)

I first registered here in early 2001. I've been posting here, off and on, ever since, under first one username, then another. Then another. Then back to the second.

I'd probably be an Admiral by now, if I hadn't kept changing identities. :(

I'm coming up on 8 years.

I remember the Voyager Forum back when it was exciting.

Lynx, The Voyager Babes, da woim, Storm Rucker's Night of a Thousand Warnings. The Janewayan Party (and the J Team), Janeway rape threads, "woman driver" threads.....

Good times....

:techman:

January 2001 for me. I was 14. Found this place through Jim Wright's DeltaBlues site. My parents had dial-up so my internet time was strictly regulated, and I felt like I was a lot younger than most folks so I mostly lurked until probably about 2005.
