I thought this was a movie spoiler about Porthos and I've already seen it, so I clicked on your thread. I'm reading the book right now and you totally spoiled it for me

I guess they genetically modified Porthos to live supper long. If Romulans can travel through time via wormholes and cadets can become captains of starships then by god in the future Beagles can live to be 100 years old
