The Obama reviews "Star Trek"

Obama: Captain, I imagine you're wondering why I called you, a fictitious dead guy, to the Oval Office.

Robau: I can only assume that a crisis has arisen too big for anyone else to handle.
For some reason, this brings to mind Captain Robau as Major Payne! (My mind works in mysterious ways... when it works...):rommie:

It's actually a steal from Gilbert Shelton's "Smiling Sergeant Death." ;)

What can I say? Hmmmm 'A lot of U.N. stuff.' Really? so does that make KIRK the big bad AMERICAN saying screw you U.F.P. security council! I'm going to go all cowboy on the Klingon's ASS'S?

Star Trek is all about a "UN" that does what America and the US military says. :rommie: Seriously, when does the Federation ever argue with Earth or Starfleet? They are all just little chickens who stay on their planets while the hew-mons protect their ingrateful asses from the hideously evil and dangerous aliens who lurk beyond Federation borders, and who have some silly objection to Starfleet "exploring" all over their turf, and occasionally start shooting, but who will one day be assimilated as peaceful Federation chickens and no long be any threat, while Starfleet continues its peaceful expansion to the furthest reaches of the Milky Way and guess what, Andromeda, you're next.

Star Trek is a neocon fantasy.

"When does the Federation ever argue" ... never, since there is no logical argument against exploring strange new worlds, seeking out new life, etc.

So far America's done alright in that department. To everyone else, "I dare you to do better."

^ I think you're now on a watchlist. :p

Love it! Thanks for including that Obama is cool on the outside and geeky on the inside.

I could care less what Obama thought of it. I'm sure the only reason he said he liked it was because someone snuck the line unbeknowst to him into the teleprompter and he just repeated what he saw on the screen.

I read that article today. We have such a cool President.

Even though he's probably going to end up bankrupting us, our last president and this one really suck as far as what they've done for the country, but that's for a different discussion.
Yet you decided to submit a post about it here.

Whoa whoa. You're not an Obama fan?? Shocking.

The "mission statement" may not be an arguable point, but the manner in which that mission is carried out is definitely arguable...

...hence the differences among Democrats and Republicans (in the U.S) or Labor and Conservatives (in the UK). Democrats and Repbulicans all have the same goal -- However, the manner in which to achieve that goal is different.
