Who's to say that they don't reintegrate the timelines at some point? Maybe Braxton was ordered by the temporal commission not to do anything. Or, as shown in Enterprise, maybe they didn't have the opportunity to change anything. We just don't know.

I have thought about it, like in the future, 31st century for example, are they able to cross over to other universes as easily as they time travel. I would think so, just like we can "beam" to the Mirror universe pretty easily. So they must be able to explore whole new universes in the future along with time travel, whew.
Or maybe they don't have to because this is an entirely new and different reality.
