I've certainly heard of his work, but didn't know his name.... and as a person who's entered an Olaf Stapledon av or two before, obscure doesn't scare me. So note my av is created in a spirit of kinship!

I'm a bit of a Hammer nerd, so I approve of this theme. I hope I can whip one up in time. Will you give plenty of warning before closing the contest?

Now I have to choose from the Nigel Kneale DVDs I have. I have Quatermass II and Quatermass and the Pit, as well as The Abominable Snowman and The Witches.

Edit: IMDB says he also wrote First Men in the Moon and the The Woman in Black TV movie. Maybe I'll do something from the latter; for a movie with few special effects, it was pretty damned spooky.
