Explaining the plot to my wife after watching....

I went to see the movie with my 8 year old son and although I liked hte movie more than I thought I would I had a hard time explaining the plot to my wife.

She liked Nemesis (yeah) and it got me thinking the best way to explain thios movie was to tell her, it was a nemesis rehash. Like they were making up for Nemisis being so bad by using the same basic plot and reworking it.

She bought that story, but I think it reallt has some merit. Besides the fact that the mnain baddy is a Romulan and he has pretty much the same objective as Shinzon, what other things to they have in common?

Shinzon wasn't a Romulan. Their motivations were completely different. The only thing they had in common was a big, dangerous ship.

The plot of XI wasn't that in-depth... why did your wife need it explained?

No wonder she didn't understand it if you are telling her it is a rehash of Nemesis. WTF?

My husband and I read "Countdown" before the movie, and it helps a bit. A second viewing also helps. There's a lot to see and hear.

I'm calling bookstores today to get the movie tie-in for more details.

I also thought Nero reminded me of Shinzon. I loved the movie overall, but the "villain" was one of the poorest characters.
