Hello, I saw today an article with stunning high-resolution artwork of Star Trek attraction concepts developped by Landmark Entertainment for Las Vegas, including never seen rendering for deleted scene envisioned for the Vegas Star Trek Experience.

The best is an incredibly beautiful wallpaper file of a first Star Trek concept for Las Vegas that envisioned a real size Enterprise!!

Here it is, all the pictures can be download in high-res:

The first image is amazing.

I vaguely recollect that someone on this board actually proposed the Hotel Enterprise idea but was shot down.

There was a guy who used to pop in every few months with a long, difficult to follow post about building a life-size Enterprise, but not as a hotel. It's been years since he was here though.

Glad you enjoy the STE artwork. There is always fantastic artwork on this site. It's mostly about Disney theme parks and Imagineering, but the guy always have incredible high-res artwork never seen before...

I saw the first picture and immediately thought of the SNL sketch where the Enterprise was converted into a revolving seafood restaurant.

Actually, there was no engineering difficulties to build a real size Enterprise. It had to be "stick" to the ground, of course, but it was perfectly feasible.
The problem came from Paramount who asked too much for the license, that's why it was not built. It was only a question of money and as always everything was screwed by stupid executives... what a pity, it would have been great!

Would they not have got a lot of free advertising as well as A long lasting iconic image just like Eiffel tower or other wonders

Wow! Impressive! I am no engineer, but I would think that they could have built scaffolding around the Enterprise that resembles the Dry-dock from TMP to help support it against Earth's gravity.

As one of the first employees of Star Trek: The Experience, we were told of this Enterprise Hotel idea. That was back when the then owner of the Hilton Hotels organization was a big Trekkie. Hilton, Paramount, Berman, and Las Vegas were all excited about the idea until that $200 million price tag was estimated (in today's dollars, that would be somewhere between $500-700 million). That's when the idea for the $70 million (originally $50 million) STTE was born. *sigh* What might have been, indeed.

There's been a couple of people on here who have given the idea of a real life size mock up Starship and I've been one of them as I would love to see it happen but I don't remember if it was me who gave a long post on it though.

Imagine that full size enterprise!! that would be amazing. but a full sized voyager may be easier for them. Just imagine the possibilities its only a matter of time before you can live in the enterprise, probably in Dubai!
