Shatnerquake - read it if you dare

It's on my radar. I haven't ordered it yet, much less read it, but I think it'll end up on the site.

"All of the characters ever played by William Shatner?" I very much doubt they'd be that exhaustive.

Ahh, here's a fuller description:
Featuring: Captain Kirk, TJ Hooker, Denny Crane, Rescue 911 Shatner, Singer Shatner, Shakespearean Shatner, Twilight Zone Shatner, Cartoon Kirk, Esperanto Shatner, Priceline Shatner, SNL Shatner, and – of course – William Shatner!

Oh, that barely scratches the surface. For one thing, which "Twilight Zone Shatner?" Probably Bob Wilson from "Nightmare at 20,000 Feet," but there was also Don Carter from "Nick of Time." Where's Alexi Karamazov? Where's Captain Harrison Byers, Spencer Tracy's aide from Judgment at Nuremberg? Where's Adam Cramer from The Intruder? Where's Jeff Barton from The Outer Limits? Where's Michael Donfield, who briefly and drunkenly put his arm around Leonard Nimoy's shoulders in The Man From U.N.C.L.E.'s "The Project Strigas Affair" in 1964, the first time the two of them acted together? Post-ST, where are Ward Fowler and Fielding Chase, the two Columbo murderers he played? Where's Buck Murdock? Where's Walter Bascom? Where's the Big Giant Head?

And what about his dozens of stage roles? It lists "Shakespearean Shatner," but he was a pretty big name on Broadway for a few years, notably in The World of Suzie Wong.

Ok i like william shatner and all. I have enjoyed his books; but seriously? this is for real? Oh how the mighty have fallen

Bear in mind that Shatner has nothing to do with this book, other than being its subject.

I thouoght it had to do with his now requiring his own zip code and his movement causing tectonic chaos. . .

I want someone to read this aloud doing all the Shatner impersonations.

"How... did... all you others Shatners... come to be here?"
"I. Don't. Know."
"You're... all imposters. I... am the true William Shatner."
"Gentlemen, please. This... isn't helping our situation. We must... unravel this mystery, or else the world is... doomed."
"Doomed? Why do you say... doomed?"
"Because surely, without their respective Shatners, our worlds of origin will be... a bleak place indeed."

Fictitiously yours, Trent Roman

And where is Jeff Cable from "Barbary Coast"?

Wow, I thought this was a joke when I first saw it a couple weeks ago.

Well, it is a joke -- in the sense that the book is pretty clearly a work of parody. Heck, it'd have to be classed as a parody or satire, or there's no way they could legally get away with using all those characters copyrighted by other people.

The problem with this book is that the author is charging money to use characters he has no legal rights to use. So I'm wondering when he'll be in court.
