WOW!!!!!!!!!


Well, here it is guys. For me, as a child growing up without a VCR in the '80's, ST for me a lot of the time was the music - the soundtracks. I fell in love with Horner's music and of course it was all about Jerry Goldsmith.



I gotta tell yas, one and all, after listening to that music just now, I am sitting here with tears in my eyes.


You can all relax gang - Tulin is now OFFICIALLY excited about "STAR TREK".

Yeah and the funny thing is - tonight we went to see Watchmen at a local cinema and they showed the ST preview right before the film started.

Seeing THAT on the big screen didn't excite me as much as hearing that music!!! I guess ST really was a lot about the music for me, as a kid in the late 70's-early '80's.

As someone else said above - the full soundtrack is floating around torrent sites.

I'd link you to it but I am sure the mods would have a mini nova were I to link you to "Star Trek 2009".

If I had ears like THAT, maybe that'd be all I'd need to do.

Nah - the preview kind of annoyed me because it's all flash and spectacle and explosions. For me, the music shows me the "heart" of a film - always has.

Film music is a love of mine and I pity those who don't appreciate it.

okay well, I'll lay off of you. I do hope you enjoy the movie as much I did. I just can't stand some of these so-called fans telling ME (someone who's as "old school" as one can be)... ME... this ain't Trek.

sigh... anyway, I'd be interested to know what you think after you see it. you seem more open-minded than... some other posters around here.

I've had a chance to listen to the score, and there are several times I was reminded of The Undiscovered Country. The first track reminds me of the overture from TMP. Its a great score, but definitely different from its predecessors. I love Giacchino's new themes.

I like this, but the Courage theme really does feel "beat to fit" into it.
