But the one thing about this movie I loved was Leo. This was the moment that I took back every bad thing I've ever said about him. This was the movie where he stopped being the ultimate Hollywood pretty boy and became a genuine badass a la Brad Pitt.

After seeing the movie I would have thought Leo getting an oscar actor nomination for The Departed was a sure thing. One of the standout scenes of the movie was Billy's reactions after seeing the body of Queenan after it had been dropped off a building. Instead Leo got nominated for Blood Diamond (which I haven't seen) instead. Was his acting in Blood Diamond really much better than The Departed?

Like what happened with Kate Winslet I think DiCaprio will eventually win one as long as he is smart (like he has been these last few years) about picking which movies to star in. Quality movies before the blockbusters obviously.

Well, the only other Boston movie I can think of is Good Will Hunting (shot in Toronto, but whatever) and well, the dialog in one seems perfectly natural while the dialog in another seems like I'm watching a film.

Boondock Saints?

Mystic River as well.

None of them seem to set up a real cheery version of the city.
