Songs that sound like other music works and recordings

Rhythmically and note for note identical. Two sixteenth notes, two groups of an emphasized eighth followed by two sixteenths, followed by three eighth notes. And the pitches are the same.

Right. I meant that what I was about to mention wasn't really the same thing as your post or the OP was talking about .

WHACK! Me, slapping my forehead. Sorry about that. :)

I find that Finger Eleven's "Paralyzer" sounds uncannily similar to Franz Ferdinand's "Take Me Out", but apparently not everyone can hear it. Maybe it's just me. >shrugs<
I thought of "Paralyzer" as not only featuring elements of "Take Me Out" but also containing heavy elements of the verse-chorus structure of Simple Minds's "Don't You (Forget About Me)" too.

"Take Me Out" has a lot in common with "Shut Up And Let Me Go" by the Ting Tings too - both have similar rhythms.
When I first heard Paralyzer, I thought, "Why do I know this song?" After reading this thread, I checked out Franz Ferdinand and the Ting Tings; but those aren't the songs I was thinking about.

So I just finished doing some googling and found my answer: It's Led Zeppelin's "Trampled Under Foot" that has that same guitar riff!

I used to think Take Me Out was the same riff as Trampled Under Foot. I listened to them later and found out they were just similar. Ironically, I thought Paralyzer and Take Me Out were just similar, not the same. Now I'm pretty sure they're the same.

To add to the list, Wonderwall by Oasis and Boulevard of Broken Dreams by Green Day.

Stone Temple Pilots' "Interstate Love Song" has an opening bit that is identical to the end of each chorus of Jim Croce's "I've Got a Name".
