KNIGHTS OF THE OLD REPUBLIC
A better Star Wars story than anything the prequels came out with.
QFT. To quote Game Informer Magazine "Star Wars: Knights of The Old Republic got right what George Lucas and The Prequel Trilogy got wrong." It's the true heir to The Original Trilogy. Don't let anyone tell you any different. I can just imagine a scene where Canderous unties all the scattered Mandalorian clans and leads them into battle to save the day at The Battle of The Star Forge. Oh, I'm nerdgasming just thinking about it.
But there's a hell of a backstory to get through though. Which could be a problem. And they'd probably go with a male lead, much to the anger of female Carth fans. Which wouldn't bother me. I always preferred Bastilla as a love interest. It was how Padme and Anikain should have been written IMO. The end battle has more emotional impact if she's your girlfriend rather then just some annoying, preachy chick you have to put up with. Carth was too whinney IMO. He was so whinney infact they made jokes about it in the second game. Never a good sign. And Kate Beckinsale or Rachel Weiz as Bastilla = Win.
If they let Drew Karpshyn and Bioware write and produce it, it will be a classic. Those guys have the best story-crafting minds and attention to narrative I've ever seen. Just look at Jade Empire and Mass Effect. If Lucas does it, he will ruin it like he ruins everything else. He'll probably make HK-47 cute and loveable. He'll accidentally trip on a banana peel and slide into the Star Forge self-destruct button. After saving the day he'll say something funny and cute like "Statement: I wasn't going to let The Sith SLIDE OUT from under us again. Ta da!". *Shudder*
If they do a Thrawn Trilogy they'd have to recast. And there's a lot of stuff in the book that just wouldn't traslate well to live action, like Thrawn studying a cultures art to learn about their military mindset. And they'd have to hook up Mara Jade and Luke during the films, because it's a movie after all.
