Terminator: Salvation ''PG-13''?

Does anyone here know or have heard the rumor going around that T4 will be PG-13?:shifty: And is this rumor indeed fact!?

It does, indeed, appear...to be a fact. My apologies to Night of the Living Dead.

But let's not all get our panties in a bunch. You'd be surprised what you can get away with in a PG-13 nowadays. Look at The Dark Knight. Basically they'll be able to show pretty much anything except nudity with intercourse and more than 2 f-bombs. Swearing isn't such a huge deal to this franchise as it is to, say, Die Hard.

Saying fuck twenty times just to get the R rating would be lame IMO. Though T4 being the first film of the franchise to get a PG-13 rating would take some getting used to.

^Oh! don't get me wrong, I don't mind a PG-13 rating. I was just wanting to know if this was true?

I'm not surprised. Hell, if it had only cleaned up its language a little, Terminator 3 would have been an easy PG-13 as well. I even suspect that might be true of Terminator 2 as well.

The Terminator, with its unrelentingly nightmarish tone, would have to be totally gutted to make it PG-13.

I'm fine with a PG-13 Terminator Salvation. It's not nearly as bad as doing PG-13 rated versions of Alien vs. Predator & Live Free or Die Hard, franchises that both absolutely need the free reign of an R rating.

Yes at present the film does appear to be receiving an MPAA rating of PG-13; however, there was a holdup with the decision because the only thing going toward an R rating is a topless shot of Moon Bloodgood's character.

Does the audiance really need to see a topless scene in this movie anyway?:vulcan: What would be the point?

PG 13 isn't what it used to be. R ratings are things of the 80s for films like this. They just can't pull in the audience enough with it.

Yes. There always needs to be a topless scene.

I would like to see this woman's tits as well.

I imagine it would be crucial to the thematic development of the John Connor character, symbolizing the breath of life he invigorates humanity with after Judgement Day.

Plus, I like boobies.

That's pretty much the logic behind the decision. No one is going to refuse to see the movie because it's missing a topless scene, but the ones who want it will surely buy the special edition dvd just to see it.

DVD gives the best of both worlds to the studio, and they would be stupid not to exercise those options.

Yeah, PG-13 films can get away with a lot nowadays. If the only thing that would have made it an R was a topless shot of Moon Bloodgood, then there's really no big deal with making it PG-13.

Still, Moon Bloodgood...

Have you seen Moon Bloodgood?

Here's hoping for an unrated director's cut on DVD...

And it is just so sick that our society considers the sight of a portion of the human body to be more unsuitable for young viewers than the sight of extreme violence and death.

You have to ask what the point is regarding BOOBS? :wtf:

The point is to see Moon Bloodgood's beautiful tits.
I'm up for that. Don't really need a deeper in story reason (which there might be for all I know)

Anyway, hopefully it'll be in the deleted scenes.

Isn't this the truth...I will never understand this absurdity.

I've never liked the rationale that just because Dark Knight is PG-13 that this is ok for the Terminator. Batman was never really meant to be all that brutal, and Terminator should be. I want the ratings for this movie to be a tossup between and R and NC17. It is, after all, a movie about a brutal war and genocide. There's no reason to sanitize that but to reach a broader audience, and that sucks.
