NASA needs to hire a composer...

Every time I watch a shuttle launch I think this...

Here is an example of just how cooler a launch is with score accompaniment:

The only problem is they would have to pause the music every time there's a launch delay.

Meh, the launch still needs score accompaniment... Perhaps they should set it up so there aren't any launch delays. :p

The 2001 theme would be a good one for a shuttle launch.

Anything would be better than nothing, but I agree that would be a good choice.

Back in the 60s, NASA actually hired FILMMAKERS to cover the launches and missions..that and constant sports-like commentary (with animated simulations) from the media made the missions much more exciting than the rather amateurish coverage they have today.

Perhaps NASA needs to revamp it's media coverage with music..and get rid of the long silences.. long silences are a sin in radio or television..NASA needs to re-learn that...

I often watch the NASA channel..and fall asleep during the endless shots of Mission control hour after hour...

they do need to use more cameras..simulations computer feeds and someone who knows how to keep an audience entertained...

How do you combine such majorly polarized subjects???

We don't have the money. :(

Actually, you do..but it's not allocated for that...it's allocated to keeping as many NASA centers open as possible..if NASA closed 1 center..say the Ames Research Center for example..it could be able to PAY for it's entire Lunar program..

But as NASA centers create jobs..and are pet agencies in Congressional districts.. it ain't gonna happen...

True. Also, back in the Apollo era we had 16 times the budget as a percentage of the federal budget than we do now.

I agree. There's only so much you can watch of a guy getting coffee and two employee's chatting about last weeks Football game.

We're trying to implement a squeeze back with a news ticket and other graphics to run during a mission but the suits upstairs at HQ are taking their time signing off on everything.
