So, I went to the New Orleans Auto Show today...

You're welcome. For those who complain about the interior, just remember that this is a show car that's been fondled and messed with by countless spectators.

It being overhandled is why the interior looks bland, unappealing, with needless gauges in an stupid place and has horrible red stiching around the gray leather accents?

Erm, OK.

Gauges are optional and the red stiching is part of aforementioned interior package that you do not need to get. Don't like it myself, as mentioned.

Still doesn't change the blandness of the overall look of the interior nor does the photographed car being a "showcar" have anything to do with the bland interior. ;)

Has anyone done the "build your own Camaro" at the Chevy site?
You need to ask? Clocked out at 35,850 USD. That's 2SS with RS package and racing stripes.

Well mister, I can't help ya then :p

Any European sports coupe could tear lumps out of that thing.
It looks like someone smacked it in the mouth with a snow shovel.

... just my opinion mind. Whatever floats you boat...
Name any.
Thank you for the pics of this gorgeous peace of machinery!:drool::drool::drool::drool::drool::drool::drool::drool:

It's not quite what I will eventually be getting, mine will be a manual and I'll just got with ye olde black leather for the interior, but still a fantastic looking car!:techman::techman::techman:

As for those not happy with the interior, I love it. It's very different, and it IS custom for the Camaro.

You're welcome. For those who complain about the interior, just remember that this is a show car that's been fondled and messed with by countless spectators. Mine will be manual too. That plastic that's supposed to provide ambient lighting will also be a different color than orange. I'm thinking Blue.

I did take a few pics of some MOPAR vehicles. Other than that, it's all GM. I don't like foreign cars and I don't waste time on them.
Yeah blue here too, going for the 2SS.

And do post them up, loves me some MOPAR! Too bad they don't have quite the reliability as GM does and worse mileage in general.

They'll be up as soon as I can get them into Photobucket.

Has anyone done the "build your own Camaro" at the Chevy site?

Yes, I think I did once for shats and giggles.

Well mister, I can't help ya then :p

I will say that on the outside the Camaro is damn-near perfect. I mean it is truly a work of art and I honestly don't think Chevy -hell all of GM- has had the best of design sense for a long time.

But on the outside that Camaro is freakin' sweet looking. And I do like the look of the Spedo and Tach in the insturment cluster -looking like the original/70s style gauges- but overall the interior leaves much to be desired.

I mean, what's with the Nintendo-style joypad buttons for the climate controls?

I mean, what's with the Nintendo-style joypad buttons for the climate controls?

Those buttons were nothing like a Nintendo controller. I should know since I own a NES, SNES, N64, GameCube, Wii, Both GBA designs & the original DS. I had the 1st Game Boy and a GBC too. :p

I think those Plus-shaped buttons were designed that way just to be different. It beats raiding the parts bin again and giving us controls that haven't changed much since the Mid-1990's.

I'm beginning to think that digital camera I've been using just plain sucks. Either that or I'm just a shitty photographer. Or it could be both.

^That's pretty much why they did it, GM has been getting a lot of critisicm for "parts bin" interior. Funny thing is companies like Toyota does it to an even bigger degree but oh hey, can't critisise them since they're Asian imports and they're always better! (Yes, sarcasm.)

As for the camera, it IS hard to photograph things like the overall dark interior of a car and make it look fantastic. So don't beat your self up :)

I criticize (and spit on the vehicles made by) Toyota all the time. I have no objections to anyone raiding the parts bin, so long as the parts are reliable. The lighting in that convention center was a little weird too.

Here's the only 2 MOPAR pics I took...

The Challenfger I saw...

The base-level Charger that was right next to the Challenger...

The cars are actually blue, not purple as they may appear because of the convention center's lights. It was a very nice shade of blue too.

Anyone want to see the pics of the Corvettes that were there? How about the other Chevy models that caught my eye? How about the stuff from Buick, Cadillac and Pontiac?

^I do like the Challenger, but when we're already on the subject of parts bin that is one car that is definetly guilty of that crime! It, the Charger and the 300C have the exact same interior! I think it's even on the Dodge Magnum.

And yes please more pics :D

The Chrysler 300, Dodge Challenger & Dodge Charger are all mechanical twins. The only real difference is the make/model names, body-style and power output of the HEMI engines.

First, the one Caddy I wanted to take pictures off...

Yeah, same basic platform on all of them. Too bad they don't have sportier platform for at least the Challenger, from what I've heard it suffers a bit from the lack of handling capabilities.

And that CTS-V is beautiful! Not the best color, but such a fantastic machine!

Just like the 1970 model on which it was based. All of this has happened before. I sure hope it doesn't happen again. The 1970's really sucked for the car business.

Anyway...

The 2010 Buick Lacrosse prototype

They wouldn't let anyone get inside the car. :(

2009 Pontiac G8 GXP in a color called 'Pacific Slate Metallic.' It was actually kinda pretty, if not a little unusual for a performance car...

^ You really need pictures of the whole cars. With the last four cars, you've got a picture of the front, and a picture of the back, but no picture of the whole thing. ;)

Wow, with the exception of the Challenger those cars look terrible, especially the new CTS. If that is what the American car manufacturers are putting on the streets I'm not surprised they are going bankrupt.
