Re: E-Mail & Letter campaign "SyFy"
Honestly, don't bother writing letters. Sci-Fi (SY-FY) has been on this trajectory for some time (my first sniff of it came during the Farscape years).
They've been trying to "diversify their profile" ever since Farscape got the axe which is just another way of saying "taking the brand name in a different direction". I don't think it's a stretch to say that in 5-10 years the sci-fi label will be gone altogether and the network will bare only a passing resemblence to a science fiction/fantasy specialized channel.
THis has been slowly happening for years now and this name change is only another part of that slow move away from being a strictly "genre" channel. I'm not saying it's right, only that it shouldn't come as a shock to anybody following their moves for the past 6-7 years.
