I'm not crying sour grapes here, but Kirk AND Picard are both losing to her? Ummm..must be girl's night on the net or something...

Rob

If you're a woman, you have to vote Janeway.
If you're black, you have to vote Sisko.
If you're bald, you have to vote Picard.

If none of the above applies, you have to vote Kirk or Archer in relation 5 to 1.

Who said one votes just because of an illogical preference? Pfft!

ETA: Damn, how could I forget that Sisko was BALD, too?! Must have been such an uninteresting character that I really didn't care  Thank you for reminding me, captcalhoun!

Oh you poor things. It must be hard for you now that you don't have the board all to yourself and can no longer ignore the fact that Janeway does indeed have a fanbase and are quite popular.

Where were you guys at when the ratings were in the toilet?

Since I don't live in the States I'm afraid I'd never be part of the ratings, and since Star Trek was never shown on tv where I live (apart from a few seasons of TNG at 3 am), I had to buy the video tapes so that's where I was...at the store spending thousands of dollars on Voyager. How's that for supporting the show?

@captcalhoun - I'm afraid you're wrong about x-dana. You need to read up on your map of Europe. ;)

This poll sukz!

they're like roaches.
Said the "scarrafone" !

Ma e' bello a mamma sua. ;)

I voted for Janeway because I felt she had the most difficult situation. Everyone else had back up. They each had their own adventures and scenarios, but she was on her own. Not only did she have to bring together disparate forces to make one crew, she also had to deal with bad writing, poor character development, and a potential lifetime of eating leola root. It's enough to break even the strongest man. Go, you good thing!
I agree that she had a very good premise, the potential to be a great character. And I liked the fact that she rose to command from being a scientist, and that gave her a good dynamics, the struggle between the curiosity to explore the Delta Quadrant and the responsibility to get her crew home. And I also appreciated the fact that she was written as a smart woman that didn't need a man to rescue her every other episode (I'm looking at you, T'Pol). But, as you correctly noted, she had to deal with poor writing and poor character developed, and that detracted too much from her character for being a favourite of mine. Just like my general opinion of Voyager, a series with a great premise that never rose to its full potential. YMMV, obviously. :)

...vote for captain Jonathan Archer...
...beacuse is the best... :techman:
...because he have the most human characteristic against others...
...and so so so much more...

Why are so many people voting for Janeway?

I mean she is the worst captain of the worst Trek show ever made.

Janeway fans bring it on:devil:

I voted Picard this time - every now and then when one of these polls come along, I do vote Janeway because she is my second favorite captain. But usually Picard is my fav, and today is one of those days.

Actually, I like just about all of them. It's a pretty impressive line-up.

She didn't get it lost. They got abducted by the Caretaker while searching for Chakotay's ship in the Badlands.
Maybe you should rewatch the pilot.
I did last month. I remember she had a chance to go back to the AQ but instead she destroyed the array with two tri-cobalt torpedoes. She could have just put them on a timer to explode and then used the array to go home, but no, she chose to blow the thing up instead.

Maybe she didn't have time to time the timers. :p
Seriously though, that was just bad writing as far as I'm concerned.
That's the trouble with these kind of stories : it was already decided from the start that Voyager would remain in the DQ for the full seven seasons, but I agree they could have come up with a better plot. This one, granted, made her look bad.
