Picard's my choice; the sort of captain I'd want to serve under. Sisko and Kirk are good too. I'm surprised at the size of the Janeway contingent in the poll.
Too bad for her this poll also includes TOS, TNG and DS9. But yes, she is the best captian in Voyager.
Original Kirk. It all started with him. With James T. at the helm you were never out of it and then later could hit the bar with him too. Like Picard as a second choice but he's too stuffy and aloof for me. Archer doesn't get the credit he should but I don't have a problem with him either.

Sisko My vote is solely based on whom I would prefer as my boss. I love Picard but he is just a bit too unapproachable for my taste. Kirk's antics are fun to observe from afar but with him as my boss I would most likely either end up suing him for sexual harassment or I would die as a result of one of his boneheaded decisions, whichever came first. I never really liked the other two captains or their respective shows.

Picard is my captain. Just because he have alot less flaws, the perfect unrealistic ideal version. Sisko would be a close second, just cause he is a great captain, and he is relateable and likeable with all his flaws. And like Q said, his got a mean left hook. Janeway dead last, just cause she's too obessed with her point of view, and too preachy, and mother like.
