For the car:
EBC RedStuff brake pads

Watch out with these. IIRC they take quite a few miles to bed-in because they're so hard-wearing. After that though, very good pads.
Will do, I was warned by the tuner as well, but I have to say that the legend is way overblown. I found that they warmed up very quickly and were then braking as normal after maybe a couple of minutes in the car all in all. Good stuff. :techman:

The "legend" was rife on the Civic Type R forum I used to read back when I had one, so I figured there might be something to it. Mainly 'cos more than one member binned their cars immediately after fitting RedStuff brakes...

^ Fucking hell. :wtf:

In the last week, I bought 6 spring tops and a pair of faded blue Levi 504 - I kind of like them, they do wonders for my ass!

You got the car home safely, so I think both you and your perfectly-formed ass are past the danger period. :D

^ I don't have a license and am not allowed to drive anything home, mate -thankfully for other drivers.

As to my ass, it probably needs more work than that to take it home...

OK, so I totally cracked and went to the Coldwater Creek sale. But I was very good---I bought only one thing: a coral colored shirt that I'd been wanting for a long time. I had trouble with it at first; I loved the fit, but I usually HATE anything remotely pink. But I thought it looked good on me.

4 Mets tickets! W00t!!!! :techman:

May 10th (vs. Pirates), May 11, 12 and 13 (vs. Braves).

Citi Field, here I come! :techman:

*is jealous* Though I might be going to a Mets/Nationals game this summer. I'll have to take both baseball caps with me, and switch the one I wear depending on who's winning. Oh, the joy of having split loyalties!

Have you seen the new Nats park? I was there last year. Way cool. Damn sight better than that shithole RFK. :p

I've seen it, but haven't gone to a game there yet. I've only gone to games at the old shithole.

I just bought this dress and a bunch of cross stitch charts. This is my favorite:

Do. It's awesome. People rag on the Nationals all the time, but they have an absolutely wonderful place to play. HOK Sport (the designers) should be immortalized for all time. Great food, great view, easy access, totally authentic in its design. I had such a great time there last year that I almost forgot that it was right in the middle of one of the worst heat waves I've ever experienced (fortunately the actual games were all at night).

I've only gone to games at the old shithole.

It's a pity that a man as great as Bobby Kennedy had to have such a crappy stadium named after him. :( I feel sorry for the DC United - they still have to play there! I hope they don't have any more trouble getting *their* new stadium built...

What sort of rotors are you using?

I'm thinking of upgrading the pads in my humble Ford Focus when the current ones wear out, but want something that would work with the stock rotors.

Picked out any designated targets yet? :shifty:

Only a neighborhood Pomeranian that keeps crapping on my front lawn (I miss living in a highrise apartment building), although I fear that the resultant mess would be substantially more difficult to hose away than dog faeces. But seriously, I have long lived by the dictum that it is infinitely better to have and not need than it is to need and not have, especially when it comes to firearms.

I bought a few old GameBoy games yesterday, including...

F-Zero: Maximum Velocity (GBA)
Mega Man: Dr. Wily's Revenge (NGB)
Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins (NGB)

I picked up a dirt-cheap copy of Metroid Prime for my best friend too.

The thing is, brake pads need a long warm-up period after you install them, say at least 100Km, but 200Km is safer, if you brake too suddenly or if you keep your foot on the brake for more than four seconds before you're done warming them up you run the risk of turning the components of the pads quite literally into ceramic, and then they won't brake anymore, no matter how hard you try.

Most people tend to disregard this, seeing as they're used to "softer" pads, like the standard ones that the car comes out of the factory with and that don't need any warm-up period at all, and consequentially end up kissing tree trunks by the side of the road.

Not to worry, I'm a very safe driver. ;)

^ Unfortunately there are a lot of things most people don't know about their cars that they should.

Anyway, I got Pineapple Express on Blu-ray today.
