I'm also verging on the purchase of a Hamilton 4992b pocket watch to console myself after The (former) Lady told me she didn't want to see me any more. That said, I am playing with the notion of giving her a call to clear the air, as the text message exchange was awkward...and a bit lame.

I wouldn't call if I were you. Only going to layer more awkwardness on top. Give it all some time.

I actually disagree. Text message is never a good way to end things, in my book.

No, and letting the uncertainty hang in the air while giving the silent treatment doesn't seem too mature either.

Bought the watch, too. Here's a reference.

EDIT: OT, but called The Lady and we spoke for a good 90 minutes over the phone; things are now cool and I feel a lot better about the situation (apart from her not being into me, of course). So, the Holdfast was wrong. J'accuse! I am owed one bespoke shirt as tribute. ;)

I bought more beer today after checking the markets.

I've quit checking.

I bought dinner on the company dime -

grilled rainbow trout with a spicy chipotle sauce, red-skin mashed potatoes, steamed green beans, and two shrimp. I added the house salad with roasted pecans, gorgonzola cheese and their "secret" house dressing.

I washed it all down with a Fat Tire beer.

You know, it may be bittersweet, but I've always felt better walking away as friends on good terms, even if it is rather awkward for awhile.

Hey I'm glad it worked out, but not THAT glad!

Fine, but I'm not putting out for you the next time we get together. :scream:

:p

For my anniversary present, hubby took me to a jewelery store and said "You have $300 dollars. Get what you want."

So I got this:

A sapphire necklace, for about $250. I wore it out to dinner.

I've never owned a piece of jewelery, other than my wedding band set, that cost more than 50 bucks.

That's a lovely necklace. Well done on hubby for buying you jewellery. :D

I bought some chocolate (again) and a couple of songs from iTunes.

I just bought Empire: Total War. It's installing right now.

I can't wait to crush the American rebels!

Bought it yesterday, the Special Forces edition even...
Today i got a Dual Shock 3 for the PS3 since the original controller had wonky buttons...
I also got Shark Tale, Bee Movie and Charlie's Angels 1 & 2 on DVD...

Beautiful necklace auntie! I'm not a jewellry girl either, but I like that.

Yesterday:
  • Dark blue flared jeans and a navy polo shirt from Old Navy
  • A Lego Bionicle for my son
  • A.I. dvd
  • Nerf darts for his Nerf gun
  • Aveeno Oatmeal body lotion
  • Blood red nail polish and nail polish remover
  • Antihistimines
  • Hair colour (med. mocha brown)
Today:

  • Over $100 dollars on groceries :wtf:

I bought a really neat little documentary called "Running the Sahara"... about 3 guys who decide to try and run all the way across the Sahara (east-west, not north-south).

Lovely necklace!

After my shirt-ordering blow-out yesterday, I'm on a clothes-buying moratorium for the rest of March. Will I make it? Place your bets now, ladies & gentlemen! :D

I failed. The (many) skeptics were right. Curse you all. I lasted all of 6 days.

Navy suede driving loafers from Ferragamo. In my defence, I've been after a nice pair of loafers that I can wear with or without socks and I did get a major extra discount. But yes, I failed the moratorium.

The camera flash has washed out the colour a little and made the stitching appear contrasted. They're actually a dark navy.

Nope. It was as is. I love it. I'm wearing right now. :D

The only thing wrong is that the clasp is flipping microscopic. I might have to add a bigger loop to the end.

And now, hubby and I are off to go car shopping. :techman:

Dang it! I know it was a longshot but I was planning on really cleaning up if you made it.

I'm quite peeved -- still, those are nice looking loafers -- no, no I'm still peeved. ;)

^ In fact I'm so peeved I nearly forgot to mention MY latest purchase which was getting my hair done.

kimc, well-coiffed but still peeved

Sorry. :o

I tried really hard.

I held off a stunningly gorgeous Valextra dark brown attache case at 75% off and a Ralph Lauren Purple Label tan linen jacket at 60% off before falling to loafers. See, I tried. It's was the cumulative nature of the battle that did for me. I didn't have time to recharge between bouts. :(

See, at least you can keep your hair on while mad at me. :)
