Wanna see the transporter?

Feels big. And way darker then the rest of the ship (cue BSG comments).
And I have to say, the transporter effect is almost cartoonish in style. It's like the designer figured that the idea of a transporter is so fantastic that it might as well have a magic-like apperance.

The glass probably has a function, you know, like concentrates their energy or something...

Transporter platform looks good. :)

Liked this:

So just in case anyone is wondering, there still aren’t any main cast TNG stars in the movie.

And this? :D

I think the transporter sparkle/swirl looks no more cartoony or real than how it looks in TOS, TNG, the movies, VOY, DS9, or ENT.

I don't get the swirling effect. It's like they're in a molecular blender.

Ellen Tigh did the effects for the new Star Trek movie. :p

Wow, there is a lot of glass on the JJ-prise!

All the more reason not to throw stones.

Romulan soldier- Sir their ship is disabled shall we fire a quantum torpedo?

Nero-no, disable their deflector dish and let the space particles finish them off.
Hmmm, like in the old cartoons, or maybe a Terry Gilliam animation -- the Enterprise takes a fatal hit, you see a network of cracks forming until it crumbles into tiny bits and falls downward off the bottom of the screen.

Yes, downward; I know there's no "down" in open space, but we're talking cartoon violence here.
