Hm...

"The end of issue 4 is a cliffhanger and is going to continue in the first few minutes of the movie."
Right after that was said, another writer (or artist) said that part of the movie will take place with the Next Generation crew and to look out for that. Another guy on the panel gave him a quick "uh oh" look and smiled.
After that, someone from the audience asked "So are members of the Next Generation cast in the new Trek movie?" to which the same guy replied, "I really cannot say anything about that."

Gotta love TrekMovie.com when they can debunk it before AICN can even post it :D

link

Well, AICN is generally the fourth or fifth place to find out anything these days.

Also, Hercules seems not to have given up 100% on his silly "Shatner's in the movie, fools!" nonsense of last year.

Is it possible they decided this in case if this movie fails, and a new movie is in the works years from now, they could continue in the future (24th century and beyond) without many problems? I'm fine with this.

What would be the point? if they did a film in the 24th century, years from now, they'd have to recast anyway!

I should point out that I don't think it's likely...
...but it'd be nice to see them use a new crew in that era on the Enterprise (as in the comics) if only Data's really on the ship. Though I don't see him in the captain role.

Yeah but we wouldn't have to deal with another time-travel story then ;)

I would like to see the return of Ralph Mcquarries redesigned Enterprise from Phase two. I thought it was beautiful. Sleek and non cluttered.

While realizing that this has been debunked. Debunking it is a great way to make it a surprise again if that's actually the case. I doubt it though.

Subject already raised yesterday (in a rare fumble by The Latino Review) and shot down in this thread, so closing.
