TOS on BR up on Play.com for Pre-order

I was just about to purchase TAS on DVD from Play.com and found both season 1 of TOS and TOS movies on BR from April.....When did this happen...I am so behind in the news.

Ohhh I'm so torn as to get them or not, this is going to be difficult, i swore i would not buy them again once i had them on DVD, but now here they come again in glorious 1080p with remastered effects.........

Oh what to do?????

It's very simple! You must buy them!! BUY BUY BUY!!
This is TOS, so no expense should be spared....I remember buying the VHS's thru Columbia House for $25.00 every month...we've all dumped a lot of money into upgrading our collections...but it must be done...there is no recourse...order it up my friend!

Honestly I don't see the point. I love those movies but they are on TV all the time.

Its TOS so i am sort of at its mercy with this stuff, sad i know...

I personally will pass on these. I have them on dvd which is really good enough for me. I am also not interested in the remastered fake trek at all. However I give the TAS DVDs two thumbs up. TAS is awesome.

What's fake about the remastered stuff? You don't thing Gene would have used CGI if it was available? Hell if he were still alive I bet he would have done more remastering when it came time. He probably would have thrown in totally new scenes!

It does'nt matter what you think he "would have" done. The fact is he did not do it. The remaster is not his trek, it is not real trek. Some people have made it into what they want it to be, what they consider better. It is fake trek. Star Trek is perfect as it is without the CGI crap. If you like it thats cool. People are entitled to their own opinion just as I'm entitled to mine. However when you alter something it becomes something else.

Totally new scenes? Yeah, great idea! It'll be just like the star wars special editions because those were awesome!

TOS was never about special effects , it was about the story, the writing and the characters......so in a sense they have not changed anything important in TOS by adding new effects shots.

Seriously, i may pre-order as its on blu-ray. However, ill need to shift my current collection... again.


Seriously, the 1080 on my 40" and the blu-ray really does up the quality on my existing dvds, so at the moment im happy enough.


Its an ivestment though as ,well, its TOS and the movies

^^Yeah i know how you feel m8, i still have my old CIC video collection of both TOS and the movies, then i have the DVD movies and TOS, then i have the special editions movies, and now im moving onto the BR versions of TOS and the movies....

If that's not true love i don't know what is....
