Slumdog Millionaire takes another one. I really have to see that film, just to find out if it lives up to all this hype.
It's a great movie, with an excellent soundtrack. Go see it soon!

Is Slumdog still out in the Theater?

I have a terrible feeling Thomas Newman will end up getting one of those "lifetime achievment awards" :/ He really should win at some point, he's by far one of the best composer working today.WHAT?!
Once more, the brilliant Thomas Newman gets the shaft!

I answered my own question! It's still at my local theater, so I might check it out this weekend.
I saw him on E's red carpet coverage.Ah, we know better.
Slumdog will get that too.

Though it would be pretty cool for Peter Gabriel to win an Oscar...but he's not there, anyway.

And at this point I'd be pretty damned surprised if Slumdog doesn't take Best Picture as well.

Really? He threatened to boycott earlier!

Easily the best movie of the year so far.
Great, great movie. It's a shame, though, the acting talent in the movie didn't get recognized.
Of course we have giants today. People like Harrison Ford, Tom Cruise, Tom Hanks, Jack Nicholson, Robert De Niro, Dustin Hoffman (just to name a few) come to mind. Whether people like 'em of not, they're big names. That shows you the sad state of Hollywood. You used to have true giants in Hollywood. Jimmy Stewart, John Wayne, Bob Hope, Bette Davis, Clark Gable, Elizabeth Taylor, etc. Now you got the likes of Brad Pitt and the diseased one Angelina Jolie. Pretty sad.
There are no true giants in Hollywood these days. There are great actors, but not many who will stand the test of time.
That's probably true of the old ones as well. Do young people (God that makes me sound old) really know Clark Gable, Elizabeth Taylor and Bette Davis? And the new ones, I'm not sure if we will know without the test of time.
