does that mean?I know-- they should delay the awards for a year to give everything time to settle out. But I suppose people don't have the attention span for that....It's been a while since I've been familiar with any of the movies or celebrities. Pop Culture has become so bland that I can't really work up any interest in most of it.
Around this time of year we get a surge of movies that seemed designed to compete for Oscars. They check all of the "Oscar Nomination" boxes.
This usually leads to more genuinely deserving films being ignorned.
Eh, it's all Pop Culture, no matter what they call themselves.If they actually focused on Pop Culture and not the Acadamy's version of High Art I might care.

It seems more an event to see who's wearing what dress than about film

It would be nice to have some idea of who The Academy actually is.
