As for the topic at hand...it disgusts me, but then so doest GTA. Amazon has the right, as a business, not to sell it.
Personally I think irregardless sounds and looks better then regardless, which is why I use it sometimes even though I know it's not a real word.
But do you use it to mean the opposite of "regardless"?
No typically when I use it it means the same thing as regardless.
I'm not an English teacher or major or anything like that, so using words or hearing other people use words like irregardless doesn't bother me. Though with you being an English teacher I can understand if you have a problem with it, I've had teachers (sometimes they weren't even English teachers) who've corrected my slang usage.
I remember when I was in Elementary school I had a teacher who would respond to "Can I go to the bathroom" with "I don't know, can you?", trying to get us to get used to using "May I go to the bathroom". I now use both can and may, though I imagine that I use may far more often then I would if I hadn't heard that teacher's response for an entire year.
