I like where they're going with this. It's certainly better than the mess that Volumes 2 and 3 both were. The one thing I don't get is.... what possible motivation does HRG have for helping Nathan's cause? Did he think Claire would somehow be grateful? His relationship with her isn't being helped at all, and he's certainly not going to be able to control her. Also, I thought it was awfully foolish for the writers to spoil Daphne's death with Matt's painting. As has been said, that made it rather anti-climactic. I do like the Batman and Robin team that we have with Sylar and the new kid. That should be fun.
I must have missed seeing his drawing of Daphne's death, because I was caught completely by surprise when it happened.

But that's just another reason why they should have just let the stupid precognitive painting power die with Usutu (well, with Isaac, really).

I'm really getting sick of the whole "I'm doing this to give you a normal life!" crap. That can't be a motivation anymore. She's never gonna have a normal life. Never. Get over it and stop doing stupid crap to give her the normal life she'll NEVER HAVE.

I agree. They need to get rid of the painting the future thing. Especially condering Matt can't paint anything far enough in advance to actually do anything to stop it.

I'm actually digging this, actually. I can't wait to see where this goes.

I'm Running with a theory now that Hiro really screwed up somehow with his powers and each volume takes place in an alternate reality. Its the only way I can watch and explain how/why each character seems to be continually reshuffled on this show.

I have to admit this episode really didn't grab me the way that I had hoped or thought it would.

I liked Daphne so I was glad to see her in these first two episodes. There were plenty of other characters they could have killed off that were far less interesting than she. Despite my affection for her I must say her death had zero impact emotionally on me because of the abruptness of it.

Matt's visions are little forced. The writers seem to feel they need a precog in the show to paint the future but it just is a crutch for the writers to provide story directions for the characters as to where to go next and I don't care for that. I would much prefer for them to devise on their own what they should do next. And how do you go from a mindreader to a precog. I doubt the paste he was given should still be effective. Plus I've never cared for the metaphysical aspect with the vision quest and the African.

The Sylar story was a little slow and uninteresting up until Luke exhibited his ability. I don't know if I particularly care for the dark protege aspect but I'll wit and see how it might develop. Who knows? And you would think the police would be conducting a door to door search for him in the immediate neighborhood. Plus wouldn't he just take on another appearance or look like a cop to find out what is going on. Afterall he has Candace's ability.

I found it a little hard to believe that so many people survived the crash but weren't more severely injured. This isn't Lost with a mysterious island.
And I'm not sure I follow the logic that Hiro must still be alive because several episodes earlier Hiro traveled to a future and saw himself being killed by Future Ando. A lot of events have occurred that could have easily altered that future in the meantime. Afterall Niki was alive in "5 Years Gone" but is now dead.

And on a superficial note--is Hayden wearing a wig because she cut her hair and the network didn't want her to. Because that hair all season has looked absolutely unnatural.

I'll still stick around because I am curious where the rest of the season is going. Afterall, we are just two episodes in and launching a new arc early on can be the least interesting part of it. I guess I'm cautiously optimistic.

Until I'd remembered that Hiro's powers had been stolen (How lame was that?), I was joking around that he was gonna teleport everybody back in time 100 years or so, where our heroes would discover that, in crash-landing their plane, they'd become the original inhabitants of the island on "Lost."

EDIT: Awesome! Two references to LOST in a row! :D

Good eye. Whether it's a wig or extensions, that is most decidedly not her real hair.

A step down from last week, but it had it's moments. Some thoughts:
-Sylar now has a teen sidekick? Hmmm... too early to tell how that'll turn out. Let's see where it goes.
-Peter can only keep one power at a time. Good. It's more interesting when the characters aren't so powerful that they're practically godlike.
-I still don't care for Parkman now having Isaac's powers. These prophetic drawings have gotten tiresome, and it's really annoying when the characters base their decisions on them -- even moreso when they always seem to come true (which, as others have noted, is extremely anti-climactic).
-Are we sure Daphne's dead? It didn't look like she was shot anywhere that would necessarily be fatal, nor did we see anyone standing over a clearly-dead body.
-I like conflicted Nathan -- I'm interested in seeing where that storyline goes. I just hope it lives up to its potential.
Overall, kind of an average episode, but I'm still looking forward to next week.

While I like Conflicted Nathan, I very much dislike the part where he forgot the past 70 years of history and decided that putting people in concentration camps was a good way to avert a genocidal race war. If the writers had any gonads, they'd have him dealing with the fallout of a public revelation all chapter, instead of cutting that thread by shooting him at the end of season 2.

Sylar makes a good mentor, we already know that from his time with Maya; he even somehow made her a cool character for the short time they were together. So his new apprentence storyline has potential.

I don't think Daphne is dead, they just needed to "remove" her from the story, her speed is like Hiro's Teleporting, a plot breaker.

I like that they nerfed Peter, Emo-Boi had all the power, but none of the brains to use them. The one thing I hate is when they purposly write the characters dumb. You Know, like standing up when there are a bunch of armed people trying to kill you :wtf:

I don't get the Parkman Prophysies, why give the Telepath the power of Precognition when you allready have a character a step away from this in Molly Walker? She could have "legitimately" disappeared foreseeing the coming hunters but be sending Parkman copies her "visions".

I also hope Obama's aproval rating don't fall too far when the people who tape and DVR Heroes find they missed out on the last 3 or 4 minutes because of his speech.

Socialize the goverment, meh. Mess with HEROES, you're going down!

Thats what I just asked about.

What happened!!!!???

I thought this episode was slightly better then last week. It's great that Sylar now has a sidekick, maybe he'll become a Magneto like figure (if he can avoid killing them and stealing their powers).

I liked it. Most of the episode was set up but we mostly got good stuff. Looks like they really did depower Peter after all, thank god. Copying one power at a time is really better for the story. It's hilarious how much trouble Claire can get herself into. Sylar's new sidekick Luke is interesting. I hope Luke makes it out alive.

Daphne's death came out of nowhere. Anyone besides me notice that they didn't show her bleeding on the ground while the picture Matt drew was showing a splash of blood when she got hit several times? Weird.

The fact that Fugitives started with a clear villain (Nathan) from the start has really helped. Sylar was mentioned by the second episode and already appearing by the third episode of season one. It took seven episodes for Adam to appear as the bad guy and five episodes for Arthur appear in their volumes.

I thought it was slightly better than last week's season premiere, but above average, nonetheless.

This new Luke character with the "microwave" ability may prove to be a worthy sidekick for Sylar. The two of them share a lot in common, especially being loners with super abilities who felt abandoned by their fathers at a young age. I can't wait to see Sylar's dad (Lionel Luthor, I forget the actor's name).

At least Noah Bennet's motivation for working for Nathan has been made clear. He's doing it to protect Claire and for the welfare of his whole family.

Is Daphne really dead? After she was shot, she wasn't shown again, and Lord knows what happened to her.

So if Matt hadn't painted Daphne getting shot at the crash site, does that mean he wouldn't have run back there and she wouldn't have died?

These writers, for everything they get right, they seem to get two things wrong.
