I bought two pairs of sneakers and a pair of dress shoes. I needed new shoes badly. My old ones had holes all over.

Just a local's nitpicking. Their little houseboat was either on Lake Union or Lake Washington, either of which would be at least an unlikely and at most an impossible boat ride to Alki Point (in the Puget Sound). I used to live on Alki, and I miss the beach! NYC weather sucks balls right now. Seattle weather is infinately more clement.

Nitpicking ? On TrekBBS ? I never thought I would see the day. This day will live on in infamy.

I would like to draw special attention to something that I have NOT bought this semester: any new textbooks. Or books at all for my classes. All of my courses this semester are continuations from last semester (or earlier) and we're using the same books from before coupled with material available online.

Given the usual gripes about book prices and what not, I felt like pointing this out.

So what did you spend all that earmarked money on instead?

Eh, I didn't exactly have anything earmarked. But I probably wouldn't have bought the stuff I mentioned two posts ago if I had needed to spend a whole bunch of money on books. The rest of the money that I would have spent on books is just still in my account.

I picked up my new suit! I've been waiting for it for ages and at the fitting there were a few details that needed altering, but today I went back to collect it and it's perfect! It's a three-piece small-scale black & white houndstooth. Very snazzy.

Sweet! I want one!

I'll probably wear it at some point over the next day or two and will try take some snaps.

Looking forward to it! The homburg is beautiful too! I love your trenchcoat as well. I just repaired a rip in the seam on the shoulder of mine over the holidays, and redid the stitching around the button holes. Now I just need to replace the buttons themselves. I lost a couple of them, so I took the opportunity to get some more contemporary ones for it. I'll post some pics whenever I finish it.

I haven't really purchased much since Christmas, aside from the essentials and the occasional beer, but I did get this scarf recently...

The colours didn't exactly reproduce correctly (the blue should be more cyan, and the black should actually be a chocolate brown), but you get the idea.

AMD are supposed to be very good. I thought about taking my car there too, but frankly, was scared off by the exorbitant insurance premium quotes I got.
