I have a potty mouth at work, and got in trouble with a female colleague who, because she had a personal issue with me, tattled on me to our boss, and we had to have a "meeting" to discuss it. And this was a disagreeable person -- she sat across from me and we worked in an open newsroom -- who had worked for a brokerage firm, one of the places where swearing was de rigeur. I said to her, "You're being way too sensitive, but I'll work on not swearing as much, but just so you know, it's not directed at you."
