Land of the Lost Superbowl Spot

"A Sound of Thunder" made for a great episode of Ray Bradbury's own anthology TV series...that is to say that the short story made for a great 22-minute tale.

The movie was an abortion of intense magnitude and should never have been made in the way it was.

it's the mythology of the Land in the 1st season that I really liked. It was smart. The main thing that makes me cringe on the old episodes now is the constant bickering of the two kids. It gets really old really fast.

The smart, serious adventure was often belied by the clay dinosaurs, non-existant budget and bad acting.
In addition to what I said above, I'll say that part of the reason I wanted to see a Land of the Lost movie was to hopefully enjoy the same sort of smart, serious adventure, but this time with real-looking dinosaurs, a large budget, and good acting.

I'll wait for the Far Out Space Nuts movie.

As for the original LotL, the intro every week always ended with a close up of a T-Rex (or something) turning to the camera and roaring. As a kid that scared me pissless. I actually ran and hid every week so I wouldn't see those 3 seconds.

I have the first season set, I've only watched part of it and then that was a while ago so I need to rewatch it but while it was sophisticated for a children's show of its time I think people overstate how smart it was. I won't commit to that statement until I watch a couple of episodes but that is my general feeling.

I have em all...mostly for nostalgia reasons just like all the other Saturday morning fare I have on DVD.

I can almost recreate the "good old days" with my DVDs!

I am the only person in the world who is psyched about seeing this flick...

LAND OF THE LOST Superbowl spot

I know what you all are going to say.... but I think it's great that they are staying true to the great designs of the show while replacing the gawd awful lame-o characters.

Damn, those Sleestak look good.

Looks terrible..the Sleestacks were better in the cheap TV show!

RAMA

No real attachment to the original series (It started right about the time I realized that sleeping in was a lot more fun than cartoons). And the story looks like it might be interesting. But damnit, I just can't get past the urge the punch Will Ferrell right in the face every time he's onscreen.

So, pass.
