To be fair, that was the forecast for Tuesday here, the day it was sunny all day and melted all the snow.
But... But the country is locked in Arctic conditions... or something.
If this is what the Arctic's like, we seriously missed the boat on global warming.
At least the Antarctic isn't like this yet.
we've had more over night. yesterday's footprints are gone, but the road seems navigable...

I could trace all of my footprints from yesterday when I walked to work this morning. Weird. Almost every footstep to and from the train station, then to and from work.

The snow has just started here, none on the ground yet. But the Met Office does say "Severe weather" and warns of 2 to 5 cm

Lots more snow here overnight. Apparently the couple of towns near us are in chaos and the one where my dad works is too. School is closed for mum (she's a teacher) and brother again (they've managed to get in one day this week, yesterday). The roads are covered in snow and my county is running out of grit/salt.
At one time we were a salt mining nation. We've still got lots of the stuff too, but we don't mine it much anymore. It's ridiculous really. It's like sitting on top of a load of abandoned coal mines and complaining that we've got no fossil fuels... oh wait.

Forecast suggests much of the show should be gone by tomorrow. But will it return later? Me, I just don't know anymore.
Don't take any unnecessary risks, esp if you don't have a car/tyres suited to poor weather. I know it seems like fun (I was thinking of going for a drive into town myself), but on balance, I figure it's just not worth the risk. Don't forget there WILL be people driving at inappropriate speeds out there.
