UK BBSers: From Russia with SNOW....

The snow has returned! It's back!

[raises fist to the sky]

(Thank goodness my commute is but a short walk...)

Yup, snow here as well. There's...a couple of inches of the damn stuff...*shock*

I shall be brave when I venture outside. There could be wolves...

^^ Or indeed wolves with OWLS on them!

Giant steps are what we take
Walking on the snow,
I hope my legs don't break
Walking on the snow....

I could trace all of my footprints from yesterday when I walked to work this morning. Weird. Almost every footstep to and from the train station, then to and from work.

Unless someone stole my boots and... walked to my work. Last night. For some bizarre reason.

haha it's back! And a more concerted effort this time, about 6 inches. The Arctic must now be jealous of our winter-fu.

The snow has just started here, none on the ground yet. But the Met Office does say "Severe weather" and warns of 2 to 5 cm  That's severe is it?

Lots more snow here overnight. Apparently the couple of towns near us are in chaos and the one where my dad works is too. School is closed for mum (she's a teacher) and brother again (they've managed to get in one day this week, yesterday). The roads are covered in snow and my county is running out of grit/salt.

At one time we were a salt mining nation. We've still got lots of the stuff too, but we don't mine it much anymore. It's ridiculous really. It's like sitting on top of a load of abandoned coal mines and complaining that we've got no fossil fuels... oh wait.

Now, is that a Fast Show reference, or not? In any case, I am now afeared of wolves with owls on them.

You swine, you are.
Scorchio.

Nah, it only seams like that's the case. :bolian:

...

Forecast suggests much of the show should be gone by tomorrow. But will it return later? Me, I just don't know anymore.

Woke up to about 4" of snow today. More forecast tonight.

Very pretty!

Glad I'm not going out though!

Well it was back when I woke up, now it's stopped again.

Got another day off today anyway, and I want to go to town, so I may risk an adventure onto the roads

Don't take any unnecessary risks, esp if you don't have a car/tyres suited to poor weather. I know it seems like fun (I was thinking of going for a drive into town myself), but on balance, I figure it's just not worth the risk. Don't forget there WILL be people driving at inappropriate speeds out there.

Good luck if you go though.

(Your roads seem pretty OK though, judging on that pic. Ours are much worse.)
