I wonder if Peter knew he could absorb powers, why didn't he absorb Claire's first? That would have given him an advantage, along with that now he has super-strength, and flight, why not just fly outside the plane and land it safely(nearly), ala Superman Returns?

Unless he can only absorb one power at a time, now I think that would be better than letting him keep all of them.

I haven't watched this show since the end of season one but I was wondering: Is Claire still hot as hell in it?

That is all.

Better than the start to "Villains." Much better. Damn, Nathan, you've turned into a contemptible sleaze. It has to be Arthur. It's got to be Arthur who "possessed" Nathan. I just can't buy Nathan doing it to Pete.....but he did get in a jab about Pete shooting him, which is what I was kvetching for last volume and never got.

we better get a good reason for this dick-ish behavior. Its really Arthur or somebody else ...Otherwise I expect Nathan to not survive the end of this season, they'll pull another "he sacrifices his life for his bro & dies to redeem himself" garbage once again. B/c if its really him there's no other way I could see the character returning next season unless they intend to keep him a baddie, which also sucks...gah I'm just so pissed at how theyve ruined my favorite character!:scream:

Looks like Peter has to physically touch someone in order to absorb their powers now, just like dear old dad.

That's the way I took it. Once he touched Tracy, he got the CRAP beat out of him by that guard. And if he still had Mohinder's super-strength, he could have easily pulled himself to a better position.

That was my question, DarthPipes. Why don't Peter or Claire--or any of them for that matter--rat Nathan out? Parkman knows about him. So do Sylar and almost all of them. Tracy certainly has a reason to rat Nathan out after he dumped her like yesterday's trash.

I'm not sure how Nathan can come back from this, melancholymecha, without being a full fledged villain. He was my favorite character, too. He, Jack Coleman, and mama Petrelli are the only real actors in this show, IMO. Zach Quinto just chews scenery.

Well, it's looking like he's actually absorbed a power more like his father's. He has to touch people to get the power instead of just being around them (whether he steals or just copies powers has yet to be seen).

The ending was decent. Really creepy with all the sensory deprivation and whatnot. However, the rest of the episode was pretty lame.

Seems like they are using some different camera shots. So far nothing really remarkable. We knew Sylar would be alive.

true... but I still enjoyed the sceen where he slaps the back of his head and says... "I told you to put a bullet right here!"

This episode definitely reignited my interest and viscerally engaged me in a way Heroes hasn't in quite some time.

While the LOST-style of season one was great, it just seemed that the writers couldn't replicate it after that. Personally, I'm glad that it looks like the show is going to adopt a more manageable traditional serialized dramatic format with a more modest ensemble focus and less of a BIG Puzzle style with dozens of questions and mysteries to confuse the hell out of you. One of those shows at a time is fine by me and LOST is successfully filling that entertainment void.

The episode also had a far more foreboding, dark ominous tone to it with the way the episode was filmed. I thought the way everyone was whispering and the quietness of the episode(there was very little music to intrude) was appropriate given the grave nature of the proceedings and only heightened the sense of something dark on the horizon. It also had its fair share of chilling moments such as seeing our characters drugged, shackled with hoods covering their faces or the terror gripping those onboard the falling cargo plane. The look on Hiro's face was one of the most disturbing moments in the hour made even moreso given we've rarely seen him anything but an upbeat mood. I think it is safe to say the lighter tone has been replaced by a gravitas that certainly intrigues me.

I also liked the way the show, despite the fantastical notion of people with super powers, grounded itself in a sense of realism.

This episode also marked the point where there is no redemption for Nathan. He has crossed the line in a way that nothing can be forgiven. He is the villian of the piece. He's cold, calculating and has completely succumbed to his darker impulses. I can never look at him in the same way again. I still don't know why he tok this dramatic action since there was a lack of character motovation provided but maybe before all is said and done we'll learn why in more satisfying detail.

I'm also curious about Angela's and Noah's role in all this. It looks like with the Company gone she has turned over all her research and list of specials to Nathan to help in keeping them under control. And where is the Haitian? He was always loyal to Angela and Noah. Would he actually go along with this? For a moment, I thought he would step out of the shadows and erase Claire's memories of what she had learned about the arrests of those with abilities and Nathan's role in all of this.

I'm giving it an above average because most of the hour was entertaining set up and catching us up, the final act was excellent.

This episode was not without its flaws, but I think it sets up Volume 4 to at least have the potential to be better than Volume 3. Not that that's saying much.

I liked showing Peter as a paramedic, Mohinder as cab driver, etc. -- the characters trying to live their lives as normal people who just happen to have superpowers. I know it can't stay that way for too long without things getting boring, but I think the writers tipped their hand too early by having almost every character get captured by the government so quickly. I would have liked to have seen at least some of them try to readjust to their lives for a little while before having to face another "situation".

This episode seemed to be shot in a different style than before... I like it. It seemed a bit more real. And I'm glad that they didn't show people using their powers left, right, and centre every few minutes. They really went overboard last volume with the use of powers... If they can continue keeping limits on it, I think it will help maintain a more realistic tone.

Matt suddenly has the ability to draw the future now? Bah... Enough of that, please!

Okay, we knew Sylar was coming back, but how is he still alive? Did someone rescue him? And what are Noah's reasons for helping Nathan? For that matter, was there something more than the Pinehearst incident that set Nathan off on this mission of his? Knowing this show, maybe we'll get a "Two Months Ago" episode in a few weeks to fill in the blanks.

Overall, I'm not blown away, but I'm cautiously optimistic. I hope they can expand on this setup in interesting ways -- and stay more true to the characters than they did last volume.

Great episode.

I liked that the writers really lessened the use of powers by the characters. I hope Sylar continues to have his own storyline for a while. It was nice to not have to see him switch from good to bad over an episode like how he did all the time during first half of the season. The dropped storylines was what harmed the quality of Villains.

Peter's powers seem to work differently now. Hopefully the writers have finally decide that they had to limit his ability.

Still can't buy Parkman/Daphne as a couple...

Agreed. I can't get past the age difference and they just don't seem compatable.

I agree about the incompatability, but the age difference? that's nothing. You make it seem as if Daphne were a teenager. If the characters are the same age as the actors, then Parkman is 42 and Daphne is 28. They are both very much adults. That doesn't even qualify as a "Spring/Fall romance".

Nathan Petrelli: Fastest Move From Appointed Senator to Chairman of a Major Senate Committee EVER

Seriously, how much blackmail material was needed for the president to pull that one off?

Claire, you're not Jack Frikkin' Bauer. You should have stayed hidden until the plane reached its destination.

Yeah, let's wait until the plane gets to a top-secret, isolated, immobile, maximum security government installation. That will be much easier to escape from... ;)
