It's stopped now, and it's only a light wind with the occasional gust. We did have some bad winds a couple of weeks ago though, gusts up to 80mph according to the weather reports.Got thunder and lightning now along with the snow...
What about wind? Bad weather isn't truly bad unless a decent gust is blowing.
A couple of weeks ago we had winds that reached about 130 kph. It was garbage day and I was walking home from the shopping centre when the winds first hit. I must have seen 50-100 wheelie bins blown over and rubbish and recycling was flying down the street so I not only had to walk against the wind I had to dodge flying newspapers/catalogues and rolling cans etc.
It was a nightmare.
I thought the only line that has no above ground start/finish is Victoria.
Uniquely among London's Underground lines, the Waterloo & City runs underground for its entire length, including both stations. (The Victoria line comes closest to this, with the only non-underground section being that to the depot).
snow has been located, first real snow ive seen all day.
For once I'd like to see a proper snowfall, ya know, at least 6 inches and see what happens. I haven't seen that much snow in 15 year or more. I don't remember that much panic back then, but then I was probably too busy going out to make a snow man, or an igloo or something.Been snowing for an hour or so here, still the lightest of dustings, but probably enough for everyone to panic. We really can't handle snow in the country![]()
Spoke to my little brother and sis, and they're also off school, and about to go play outside for snow-fights.
Wish I had a pair of snow shoes to go visit them with.
And they say there's more to come!![]()
