The transporter room is...interesting.
What's up with the one pad? A special decon transporter? Captain's only?

I'll guess that it's a feature of the toy set that enables you to "simulate" a beam-down by putting a figure in the chamber and turning a knob. There is probably not such a structure on the actual set.

It's actually very reminiscent of the old vinyl bridge playset from back in the day in that respect, which had a similar feature.
Here's the modern "retro" version of that toy:

Looking at the picture of the transporter room toy, I have to admit, I kind of do like that. Especially that they have a chair for the transporter chief. Jeez, it must have sucked for Lt. Kyle or Chief O'Brien to have to stand at that thing all day.
I've always felt bad that the Transporter chief had to stand there pretty much when ever someone needed to beam to and from the ship.
I never knew why the set designers never gave them a chair to sit in.
What about down time when no one is beaming down or up, do they just stand there with nothing to do at all ?

* Always wondered about this myself *
Dunno. You see an awful lot of standing stations on board naval vessels, though, including control stations on bridges and in engineering rooms. In that respect, mixing some standing stations into the sets - as they began to do with the bridges starting on TNG - makes some visual sense.
Hell, does Adama sit down? NO!![]()
Wait, wait, wait. These toys..the Enterprise...that communicator...they look...accurate. Can it be? Has Playmates actually done a good job?
I recall seeing something on TrekMovie about the hand prop toys being based off the filming props. I hope that's true because it means cheap costume accessories!
Also, the comm looks way better open.![]()
Nice to get a full shot of the Narada http://www.wizarduniverse.com/feb094864.html
The Zentran called, they want their ship back.
Don't mess with Breetai, he'll climb on your ship using the greeblies, rip open the hull, then kick your ass! So, for the love of God, Nero, give back the ship!
Don't forget the most important part of it all. He'll do all of the above without even using a space suit!![]()

The more I see it, the more I love it! Does anyone have an image that doesn't have part of the saucer cropped out? Anyone with Photoshop skills that can "fix" it?
Here ya go!

No, they're all actually pretty good looking.![]()
In YOUR opinion, Dennis. Not mine.
thats the only flattering shot i have seen of the ship. .
The ship is still hideous, the phaser, communicator, and tricorder look like Galaxy Quest rejects, and Nero's ship looks like a used mop head.
