I'm freezing!

It's -22 F here this morning so I'm working from home today. Yeah, I'm a wimp but I park in an outdoor ramp downtown and don't want to risk being stranded there tonight - assuming my car would be willing to start this morning.

-22?

Is that the temperature or the windchill?

Yikes!

It's 6 here today. Or, as I guess a MN would call it: a heat wave.

Trekker, when I woke this morning, the thermometer on the deck read -17. Based on the sensor placement, it's usually a little high in the winter and low in the summer. -17 F was the temperature at the sensor. Windchills were supposed to get down to -45. I'm in southern WI.

JTFC!

Glad I don't live in WI!

Here's the funny thing for me, it's supposed to be the 50s and 60s next week!

My sis has been complaining about the temp back in Chicago. I went to India just in time. I almost put on a light jacket today, but then the sun came out. I love my relatives here though, talking about how cold it is when it's in the 60s here!

We saw a weather report on a channel here and the US just had a large blue circle over it and said "DANGEROUSLY COLD".

It should be about 70F/21C here today, were having a warm spell in NoCal.

Unfortunately, were in a drought and need snow in the hills badly this year, so you all can laugh at us in the summer when we can't flush our toilets.

The last two winters have been a little rough. Last year we had lots of problem with fog, then snow, then fog and snow. It was getting to the point where we couldn't see the highway signs between here and the next town because the snow banks were so high. This year it's snow, then snow, then freezing rain, then snow, then snow, then fucking cold. More fucking cold for tomorrow, and you guessed it, snow for Saturday.

We're dangerously cold because if it doesn't warm up soon we're gonna start lighting random things on fire.

That would be BEFORE the windchill. I'm not sure what that would be right now and I'm also not sure I care to know!

I made the mistake of touching my front door handle when retrieving a UPS package from the front porch and nearly "burned" my hand.

Oh, for those of you used to Celsius here's a calculation:

-22 F = Damn cold C

It was -36 this morning when the normal temperature was -22.

I walked my wife to the bus stop this morning and made the mistake of running the quarter mile back home... my thighs looked like they were sunburned! I would have been better off walking (though it felt nice to finally get to stretch my legs again).

Why did you go in shorts?

:wtf:

I'm in eastern Iowa, about 20 miles south of Maestro, and we're expecting another night of -40 wind chills.

Fantastic!

Just proof that god doesn't like Iowa. :p

We're all the way up to 7 now. I think it's sunbathing weather.
