Take it from me you can't please everyone when it comes to designing a starship. I kinda like your design myself. Keep at it maybe as a different class of starship.
You know, folks, there's a difference between saying, "I don't like the design" or "I don't like the design because X" and saying, "UGH! It's UGLY! It's terrible! Blah blah blah." One is a perfectly reasonable reaction, and one tends to come across like an attack upon the artist.
hey, i never criticised the artist, only the art. it's not like i said he smelt of wee and his mom left her knickers at my house.
See, here's the thing. If you had said, "I don't like it because I feel that it looks too much like the White Star from Babylon 5," that would have been a perfectly appropriate critique. Instead, you went: Your wording implied that the creator made no substantive effort at originality -- notice how you say it is the White Star rather than saying it is too similar to the White Star for your tastes. And then you engage in a very rude display of contempt for the artist's efforts by going, "BLEH!" At no point in your critique did you word anything in such a way as to acknowledge that yours is a subjective opinion; you worded your criticism as one would an objective rather than subjective evaluation. In my opinion, it was an incredibly immature and disrespectful criticism.
You have every right to your opinion of the guy's work, but you could have shown a lot more respect for the guy in your critique.
Ohh.. I have the power to make people do things! This could get dangerous. Anyway, I do feel it probably could have been delivered with more tact, but I don't see anything here that would require moderator action.
I just want to say that I never said the design was bad, or anything, I just like the other one better.
Yeah that was a little rude of me. No matter, you drew a cool ship. Just a little fat. Put it on a diet!
Atleast it's not a Vista Class ship, since that would sound too much like a certain Microsoft Operating System
Starfleet R&D still hasn't released stable warp core drivers. And the holodecks are laced with ridiculous DRM.
"The Resolution of the Vista class ship is currently set to low, click the yellow bar to allow high resolution images." "click" "You need to upgrade to LCars Vista to view this image, contact your local vendor or visit....." Ok to be serious: I'm currently working on the armor plating. It's a painstaking process, when it's done I'm sure another preview will come to Trekmovie or so. *I suck at typing today
Who decides that anyway, where/when it will be first released? Pocketbook can do as they please with your image?
I couldn't find any pictures of the Aventine or a Vesta class ship on trekmovie, but I didn't look very hard to be honest... I happened to come across this picture on the Memory Beta non-canon Wiki site of the Aventine and I thought it satisfied my thoughts of how it might look... http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/startrek/images/thumb/a/a4/Aventine.jpg/800px-Aventine.jpg
