Blade Runner via Anime

well that is pretty cool, but I routinely describe "Ghost in the Shell: the series" (which ran for 52 episodes) to be "essentially Blade Runner crossed with 24"

If that were anime in style Dekkard, as the hero, would have hair covering one eye and look about as thin as Natalie Portman. lol

Looks pretty good. I'd say it looks less like real anime (whatever that means *shrug*) though and more like an anime influenced American style... Which is exactly the case.

I immediately thought of that Sherlock Holmes cartoon, Sherlock Holmes in the 22nd Century. The style is very reminiscent of it (or maybe the character designs remind me of the show more than anything), although this Blade Runner rendering is much more detailed.

EDIT: The spinner looks straight out of the Ghost in the Shell series, right down to the computer generated pop against everything else and the slightly blocky feeling the CGI gives it. GitS's blending of CGI+more traditional style never really worked for me. It always took me out of the show.

Nah.

Too bad this is just some fan's work. I like the style and would be curious to see more. Oh, well. I'll snatch that as a desktop background for now in any event.

Ghost in the Shell is just full Win!!!!

I didn't know if a girl would like it.

I mean I like the Batou/Togusa episodes, while the Major is kind of just fanservice incarnate.

Interesting

Blade Runner did have an anime influeunce with the prediction Japan would takeover the future in advertising, robotics and food.

I haven't watched blade runner in awhile, didn't Dekkard order a bowl of ramen noodles at an outside stand?

That picture looks too "bright" it doesn't have the gloomy atmosphere you'd expect from a "Blade Runner" anime.
It should have a "Ghost in the shell" atmosphere.

"Sushi. That's what my ex-wife called me. Cold fish."
I know much of it's awful but I love the voice-over narration.

The character designs have a definite animation style but I'm not completely sure it's "anime" looking.
