Ever walk into the wrong restroom?

Well, 32 years on this planet, I had to take my turn.

After I checked out at a market yesterday, I had to take care of some business. The restrooms were right up front. It was a Whole Foods and the signs they used were these modern looking contraptions made of cork, with the universal male/female silhouette polished metal plating mounted over the cork. With the subdued lighting they use, it was hard to distinguish the two with a casual look (I obviously studied after the fact). So, I'm kind of in a hurry, and after a quick glance, walking past an occupied stall, choose my 90 second sanctuary.

Right away my senses told me something wasn't right.

The smell was --- a bit off. I don't know just different. As I hunted for that familiar looking porcelain, there were only -- walls! Modesty paneling making out stalls. Not the first time, sometimes designers keep bathrooms configured for unisex use by turning it all female/pansy-man.

The final nail in the coffin was the second I walked into the stall. As my eyes focused on the target, there on the paper dispenser were the remains of one feminine napkin. And at that *exact* instant, the sound of my neighbor's urinating had this very distinctive tone about it as it hit the water in the bowl.

YOU FUCKED UP, KLADIS! GET OUUUUT. GET OUT OF THERE! GET OUUUUUUUT!

Without saying a peep, I hauled my ass out of there, preparing my story for the police. Thankfully no one saw me making the dash for the mens room. Crisis averted. Remaining urine was properly deposited.

Yes, but never when sober, so my hat's off to you.

The only time I can remember was a club where the first floor had toilets with doors on either end with different 'themes' on each side. I was in the R&B Room, realised I can't dance and trying to was seriously harming my attractiveness, so walked into the toilets to get through to the chilled out room.

When I walked in and saw women, it didn't click. No one really reacted which was a worry. I just acted as neutral as possible, gave a nod to the attendant and walked straight through as if it was all normal.

Then I went to the 80's floor to hide.

I've been in intentionally a few times as part of work, such as one of the bar staff dragging me in to show me a toilet was blocked or lock ins when I'd open the womens as a unisex.

    Yep.

I was driving around when a sudden urge hit me so I quickly parked in the nearest place I could find- a library.

I ran inside, my colon about to blow out a gushing torrent of scat, pinching my sphincter shut tighter than a V'Ger opening I dashed to the men's room door in the library - it was locked. I. Had. To. Go!

So I ducked into the "women's" room (actually "woman's room") and used it.

I guess not as big a deal since it was a one-occupant bathroom and not quite in fitting with the intent of the thread -as I did this on purpose and not on accident- but it's the best I have.

You get credit for the sphincter/V'Ger parallel.

I always thought of it as "the giant space sphincter."

    Not by choice.

When I was little (possibly as late as seven years old), if I was out with my mother (which I almost always was, because she would never leave me at home alone) and she had to use the washroom, she would drag me into the women's washroom with her. Or if I had to go, she would take me into the women's and make me go in there.

My mother has a lot to answer for.

Women do it all the time when they don't want to queue so I suggest you all not worry about it.

Apart from years working in catering when I've had to clean them, no. I have, however, walked into the wrong changing room.

As a contact lens wearer, I have developed a horror of public swimming pools where the two changing room doors are side by side: without my lenses, I have been known to take the wrong door. You try explaining to a bunch of nekkid men that if you're too shortsighted to see the 18 inch sign on the door they don't have a damned thing to worry about!

I use to have to go into the women's from time to time when I worked as a bouncer, but always at the end of the night to see if anyone was still in them when we were closing up. Also if I had to pee at that time I'd use the women's, since they are always far less disgusting then the mens.

I nearly did by accident once in a shopping mall. The setup was that their was a path to the toilets and you go left for male and right for female at the end, only when I went I saw a young lady standing just around the corner on the left side (not actually in the toilet area) so I thought that was the female's so I veer right. I'm about to walk in and she calls out that I'm going into the female's, so I was saved at the last moment.

It only bothers me if they are rude and try to push in if there is a queue. I hate queue jumpers.

I pissed in a sink once by mistake if that's any help. In factories, the sink doesn't look much different to the toilet.

Not yet - but I expect it's in my future soon. I have a toddler son. My friend has a three-year-old boy who is now strong enough to push open restroom doors by himself. One time she was out just the two of them, he runs off and straight into the men's room. She had to knock on the door and shout "I'm just coming in for my son!" and go in and get him.

I walked into the men's room in a bar once (no I wasn't drunk yet). In my defense though I had just returned from a year in France where the restrooms were all unisex.

Unfortunately, yeah. But at least it wasn't occupied at the time. Uhh... times. :o

The restrooms in my office building are in the center of each floor. You access them by a small hallway that opens into each side of the floor. The mens room at one end, the womens at the other. As you've probably guessed, if you're used to approaching them from the same end, you get into a routine as to which way you turn. Problem... what if once in a while you approach the restrooms from the other end of the hallway from usual?

Once in middle school I walked straight into the women's bathroom by accident (they were right next to each other and, as I remember it, I had to go). The girls were socializing at the sink, and turned and saw me and started laughing. I ran in the other direction. Hmm... come to think of it that was rather embarrassing.
