Brave/Bold..kicks butt

This past episode, with Guy Gardner AND Merlin and DEMON..was great...the story was tight and had us laughing AND hooked on the drama all at the same time...great stuff..

I have decided that anyone who doesn't like this Brave and Bold show, which is aimed at kids and those of us who want to be entertained with out all the reality of Marvel Comics, is just a grumpy old stooge.

Brave and Bold!!! two thumbs up..

I agree :bolian::techman:

Brave and the Bold is the best thing to come along for superhero animation in years. Superhero animations have been too dark for too long, not allowing kids to be kids.

Brave and the Bold does not dumb down the stories, but allows Batman to both be straight faced, but allows for fun adventure as well. Superhero thrills without Dark Knight blackness or Iron Man sex parties (anyone watch the deleted "Dubai Party" scene?)

The opening teaser with the Green Lantern Corps was definitely my favorite bit of the series so far. Guy! Kilowagg! Salaak! Green Man! Arisa! Katma Tui! Of course it was stupid how this alien manages to take out a cafeteria of 50 GLs but Bats manages to do better. It would have been nice if Bats just crossed his arms, leaned against the wall, smiled and said I'll let you guys handle this one.

I always forget this show is coming on, so the first episode I've ever seen was Friday; and I only saw the last half of even it. I've got to say, though; this seems to be a really fun show. I wasn't really expecting anything that great from the initial artwork and press about the series (it looked like a kiddie show to me), but it looks like they've done a great job. I'll try to remember to watch some episodes online (probably the best way for me to catch them).

Anybody else think that mind controled Dark knight Batman kind of looked like Jean Paul Valley Batman.

I don't know who that is, but I liked the outfit..my son, who is five and is totally crazy about Batman, thought it was cool..and now he wants them to come out with an action figure of it!!!

My kid digs it, and I'm having fun watching it with her. She also digs watching the old Super Friends cartoons, which contain many of the same elements as this new show (time travel, space travel, fighting weird monters, etc.).

And then, after she goes to bed, I slide in my Dark Knight DVD. It's all good. :)

I think this is to Super Friends what 'Famous Covers' and like figures are to the old Megos. While leery at first (despite having a real fondness for the Frank Springer style), I am having enormous fun with this series, and the prospect of a JSA appearance has me in heaven!

Here'd be a good one for a team-up, though logistics would be a real pain : Multiple Batmen, somehow teaming up all the voice and maybe some live action actors of the Bat doing VO's. A great scene : Frank Miller's jerkface Bat makes a remark that has a large foghorn that drowns it out. The other Bats then toss him back through the portal he emerged from.

"He won't be returning anytime soon. Some Knights are just a little too dark."

i can't wait to see what JSA version they will use...The Outsider's looked pretty cool too...but JSA? God I hope they have Alan Scott!! and the Spectre??? Oh my god that would be so great...but perhaps they mean the more modern ones like Power Girl--Star Spangled Kid--Sandman (who was in JLU if only for a cameo)...Dr.Fate is a must though...

About the Outsiders...how is it that Black Lightning is making an animated appearance? The story I was told was that Tony Isabella said 'never ever' to tooning BL when he sold him to DC, basically not wanting him to become a Super Friend.

Actually, Hanna Barbera didn't want to pay the creator royalties that would have attached if they used Black Lightning, so they created Black Vulcan instead; BL's Wiki entry covers it.
