What Would Be The Best Way To Spread The Gospel of Christ?

That is, of course, in the part you choose to believe.

Unfortunately, there's those pesky other parts you choose not to.

It's such a complicated process...

It's such a complicated process...

One of the underlying problems with it all.
The choice to only follow what suits you.
It's only complicated to those of a rational mind.

The only two things I've ever really done to spread the Gospel of Christ around the world was to give 300 dollars to the Memphis School of Preaching worldwide outreach program

and to design a newsletter my church sent out to people in the community inviting them to attend church with us (this was all the way back in the early 1990s when I still lived at home).

Any suggestions here that people have?

My best suggestion would be to appear genuine. I don't mind people talking to me about their faith if they are being genuine, and not simply trying to lord what they consider to be their spiritual superiority over me. That said, having a track record of decent behaviour helps if you already know the people.

And certainly don't ruin your chances by turning everybody around you against you before you even start.

;)

The gospel of Christ is freakin everywhere already. You don't need to try to make it more visible. As a nonreligious person I already have to slog through Jesus everywhere I turn in this society, what with Jesus holidays and Mormons hating on the gay people and Sarah fucking Palin and pro-lifers and churches on every corner and God this and God that and God bless America. The gospel doesn't need any more spreading, don't worry. :techman:

For here I say live as a Christian should live. Live like Christ to the world. If I had any money I'd also support missions and helping those ministries that help people in need.

I try to hew close to the signature I use here. :)

Actually, I like the way that my church's senior pastor put it once. He said that we shouldn't be focused on 'converting' people and haranguing them when they say they don't believe as we do. Too many Christians do that. We should strive to be "spiritual friends" to others. Lead by example, as it were.

Don't tell people that they're going to hell if they don't believe. Don't tell people that they're going to hell if they're gay.

Don't do anything that promotes hate.

Jesus gave two very simple commands. To spread the Gospel of Christ, simply Love God and Love Your Neighbor. That's it. Can you do it? If you can, you're spreading the Gospel of Christ. If you can't, well, you're probably going to hell. :D

Dayton3, I think the best way is to live like Christ and show people you have the love of Christ in them. I have met many people who are Christians and some have been real decent and you can just see the love of God in them and it makes me want to get closer to God when I see what He has done to them, but I have also seen Christians who I wanted to nail to the cross. They were so hateful and spiteful that there is no way they had any love in them. I once told this old bat who loved to praise Jesus, but was mean as satan that if she is what Christ was like then Christ was a butt. She got mad, then started trying to "cast the devil" out of me and I just laughed at her.

I am a Christian, but I can see why non-Christians do not like us. I dont mind Christians who preach the word or tell others about Jesus and salvation, but I do mind Christians who are quick to point out the sins of others, yet are some of the worst sinners out there.

Perhaps by living it for yourself rather than bringing it up in a forum where people may not appreciate a blatantly religious discussion.

Here, for instance.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go have some sinful relations with that hot guy down the street. If I'm going to Hell (and I'm not suggesting that I or anyone else here necessarily believes that I am) I might as well enjoy the ride down.

No kidding. Hopefully someone is working on a cure.

The Gospel of Christ isn't really what's being spread. If it was, then you two wouldn't feel the way you do. Rather, an erroneous, "Nah, nah, nah, nah-nah! I'm better than you cuz I've got Jesus, and teh_gahyz are going to teh_helluz!" twistification of St. Paul's letters is being spread.
