O yeah is Riley dead? I swear I saw her move....

Probably still alive for Jesse to slap around another day. She didn't do it right.
That's right, kids. It's "down the highway" not "across the road". Riley will be OK.

Above average. Quirky ending and it sucks total ass that we have to wait until February for new episodes.

Re: Terminator-213 "Earthlings Welcome Here" - Discuss/Grade <SPOILERS

Any precise date for the return of the show?

Friday February 13, 2009 so says the Fox website.

I thought it was great episode but unsatisfying in that as a midseason finale there are far more questions raised than answered. It was nice to see all the principal cast members in one episode (with the exception of Brian Austin Green)...lately episodes have concentrated on one or two characters at the expense of all others--not necessarily a bad thing, but it was nice to see most of them in a single episode, especially before the long wait until February.

For some reason the station airing it in Toronto doesn't air the promos, ever...I assume that was what all the Kyle Reese talk was about? A promo for the rest of the season?

Interesting tidbit: The images of the alien symbols and drones are ones that showed up on the internet a few years back. I still might have some of those symbols as a print-size JPG on my HD somewhere.

Edit: found'em:

^^^(couple posts upthread) thanks for the link David cgc...

...I love the promo, but I'm worried about the timeslot--isn't Friday traditionally the "kiss of death" night?

I don't understand that logic. If that were true, then Dallas, Knight Rider, and The Dukes of Hazzard all should have failed.

Re: Terminator-213 "Earthlings Welcome Here" - Discuss/Grade <SPOILERS

excellent..................and I mean excellent episode. Any idea if FOX will re-air the whole second season before the next new episode? If not, SCI FI should re-air the whole series, all 22 episodes so far before the next new episode. There could be a marathon or two of episodes

Huh, I didn't know those shows aired on Friday...in any case I was under the impression that in the past few years that particular night isn't very coveted by the networks--not counting stuff like sports, I always thought they focused more on Sunday to Thursday.

Yep those are the ones I remember seeing. If they are working real UFO stuff into the story that is really cool. This show really has some great writing.

*sigh* Youth is wasted on the young

Yes, Friday night used to be "the night" to watch television. ABC used to have a Friday night lineup that somehow ruled part of the 1990's (although I thought those shows were stupid). Heck, The Love Boat and Fantasy Island were quite successful on Saturday nights in the 1980's.

The target demographic for network programmers is the 18-34 year old market; however, most 18-25 year olds are out on Friday nights, which really hampers the schedule for that evening.

Re: Terminator-213 "Earthlings Welcome Here" - Discuss/Grade <SPOILERS

^yup, just slightly before my time...demographics change, and so too must the programming I suppose.

Re: Terminator-213 "Earthlings Welcome Here" - Discuss/Grade <SPOILERS

Skynet - Son of James Ellison...

I don't think John Henry is skynet. Why teach a machine that's supposed to end all human life rules?

I believe that Ellison has replaced Andy Goode in this timeline personally. Remember in Dungeons and Dragons that Andy (as Wisher) said in his confession to Reese that he was the cause of Skynet. He had tried to reassure it that humanity was good but it was too late and Judgment Day happened.

As for the human rules: Ellison is teaching it about morality and religion as well. A theory is that John Henry will begin to think of himself as the avatar of the apocalypse and that he was created for that purpose - to punish humanity for their sins - that is not my theory but a part of me considers it a possibility. Another part of me still believes that Weaver is a rogue terminator who is trying to reach her own ends and not those of Skynet.

Exactly. I don't think that Fox's Sci-Fi Fridays are going to go very well. I think that Sci-Fi should by the show to replace Battlestar next season...

Liked the episode and voted above average.

I'm a bit surprised that no one has commented on the time travel without feeling pain. In the original, Kyle showed pain due to the time travel http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iFkBoj4nizI , but somehow Riley and Jesse feel none?

Might be because the time traveling device has been updated or something, anyone remember if John and Sarah felt pain after jumping forwards in time?, can't remember, but it's a bit annoying.

They felt time lag and shivered for a bit after their arrival. They had vision problems (Sarah buying blue handled pliers thinking they were red, John not being able to find the Turkey that was right in front of his eyes) in Gnothi Seauton and were hazy (tired, irritable, difficulty focusing) according to dialogue.

Re: Terminator-213 "Earthlings Welcome Here" - Discuss/Grade <SPOILERS

Ah, ok. But still it was nothing compared to Kyle's trip.

Do you agree with me that Jesse and Riley seemed unaffected?
