Carrie Fisher wishes she turned down Star Wars.

I am so very tired of these well-to-do actors bitching about the so-called "price of fame". Yes, it takes its toll, but she was afforded several advantages because of the role as well.

Amen.

As for Fisher, maybe she wouldn't have bipolar disorder if she hadn't have been screwing around with LSD and other drugs.

Now since the party is over, as a "mature lady" she regrets it.

But, not before when she was living it up during her "wild child years" (And, that gravy train lasted a loooooooooong time!).

... you don't know anything about bipolar disorder now do you?

We're talking about a real human being here. Celebrities seem to attain either a supreme pedestal in society or are disregarded as the miserable dreck of said society. I wish we could more easily just accept them as individuals with hard long term decisions to make some times. It is so easy for us to point and degrade something we don't understand.

I would not expect anyone with a jj abrhams (spock) avatar to understand

I'd like to ask (with no hint of sarcasm, for real), is Carrie Fisher really as rich from her stint as Leia as people assume?

Presumably there's some residuals involved but I doubt she's crazy rich. Richer than most, to be sure, but not Harrison Ford or George Lucas rich.

If that's the case, some of the "poor little rich girl, bitching about her meal ticket" posts above may be a little off base.

Carrie Fisher is Eddie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds's daughter, so she has inherited from both estates (I should know this because when I was working at a home insurance company 7 years ago, Carrie Fisher's name was listed as the benefactor to Debbie Reynolds's estate under State Farm Insurance, which houses art and valuable Hollywood memorabilia.), and she also made quite a mint for herself from her divorce from Paul Simon of "Simon and Garfunkle" fame, not to mention her stints as a writer (novels, screenplays) most notably Postcards from the Edge which depicts the "mother-daughter relationship" between herself and her mother Ms. Reynolds (later adapted into a Hollywood film starring Shirley MacLaine and Meryl Streep.).

So, she has money.

Not insanely Bill Gates rich, but she never has to worry about where her next meal comes from ever again.

I wish everyone had turned down Star Wars.

An entire generation was warped by that movie series.

If it wasn't for Star Wars, you guys would be worshipping at the feet of Dino De Laurentis and Sam J. Jones for Flash Gordon as the heir apparent to the throne which Mark Hamill is most famous for.

And, Indiana Jones would have been portrayed by Tom Selleck.

^^^

Actually, Return of the Jedi was filmed in 1982 when Carrie Fisher donned the gold bikini.

The film itself, however, was released in 1983 (I should know, because I was there waiting in long lines surrounded by white guys in moustaches and gator t-shirts to see it in theaters 7-times that summer.).

Sorry again, but Jedi was actually filmed in 1981

Ornella Muti....

I got a bore worm for ya.

Also, we'd be looking at Dale Arden's Harem Dress.com. Just not the same. ;)
